joosep 2017-11-24 05:43

Nine months. That's showing a lot of consistency. Keep following Jesus!

Well done! May God bless you as you learn each day.

Robinshe 2017-11-24 18:41

Really good, Luli, that´s a long streak! Keep it up, and may you be blessed and enriched by all that you are learning!

Thank you joosep and PeterP and Robinshe!
Didn’t think I would be able to get this far and I do thank you all for your good example and encouragement!

Well done! ( can I borrow some of your points please 😃Mum)

Well done Luli. I knew you would do it. 👍🎉 So proud of you 😀

Thank you Janet, wouldn’t have done it without your encouragement and excellent example! Now I have to make sure I make it to the next badge ☺️!
Seriously though, I am benefiting from meditating and learning these passages.

Long term goal?
I would love to memorise at least one chapter from each book of bible, have one already from each of the gospels, any suggestions for Acts or Romans.

joosep 2017-11-25 20:18

Acts 2? Peter's fantastic sermon, three thousand saved, the church in Jerusalem is born. Or Acts 9, the conversion of Saul (Paul).

Romans 8 is a good one. I love your idea. I like trying to learn a whole book. You get the drift of the teaching much better. (Although at my rate it’s slow in happening. ) I’ve got several started but none completed. I started Hebrews way back when you (Luli) and I were going to do the Emmaus Bible Study Course on Hebrews. I’ve still only got 6 chapters learnt. I loved Hebrews 11. Still one of my favourites.

Luli2016 2017-11-26 11:46

I think I will definitely go for Romans 8.
From the book of Hebrews I have only selected chapter 6:10-20, and the entire chapter 8 &11.
Just finished the book of James.

JDJDJD 2017-11-26 20:56

Wow well done.👍 You’ve achieved more than me ie a whole book. I will have to get a move on 😉

PeterP 2017-11-26 21:48

For Acts, I agree with Joosep. Acts 2 is full of good stuff with the arrival of the Holy Spirit and Peter’s preaching. But it’s a long chapter, so I split it into 2 verse sets for learning, otherwise you need quite a long time slot each time you review it.

joosep 2017-11-27 03:28

Good advice, PeterP. I also love Acts 16, Paul in Philippi, the Philippian jailer -- "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" (ESV) He was saved, he and all his household.

Thank you PeterP and joosep for your suggestions on the Book of Acts.
It’s difficult to choose as there are many beautiful passages in the book of Acts, but for the moment I am going to choose chapter 3 for two reasons. The first 8 verses are a well-known Sunday School song and I love Peter’s boldness from verse 12 onwards.

joosep 2017-11-27 18:23

good choice!

Luli2016 2017-11-27 21:06

Thank you joosep.
