Luli2016 earned Consistent learner - level 10

spookylukey 2021-02-28 10:49

Well, you've reached the highest level, wow!

You may know that I already had to add another level, just for you - I'm not adding another one I'm afraid! Also, I forgot to add the points for level 10, so it crashed when it was supposed to give you the points+notification, which is why it didn't show up earlier today. I fixed that now.

God bless, and make sure you enjoy a break at some point!

mrsmoo 2021-02-28 11:57

Beyond amazing achievement. What a glorious testimony to love and dedication.

joosep 2021-02-28 11:58

Praise the Lord! Thank you, Luli2016, for not only setting a good example of faithfulness, but also being a consistent gentle-hearted encourager to all on this site.

T-rey 2021-02-28 12:28

Wow! Good job!

Luli2016 2021-02-28 12:51

Thank you joosep and mrsmoo for your kind words. ☺️
I have been greatly encouraged by everyone’s example.
Thank you Luke for all the hard work you put into keeping this site running and for the extra badge!
Beyond points and badges, although all pleasantly rewarding, I am grateful for the opportunity this tool/resource has given me to meditate on the Word and grow more in the knowledge of Him who is worthy of our worship and praise.
I’m not too sure if I will continue to add one verse every day, but even if I do, it is more of a personal challenge as I would like to learn the whole gospel of John.

MrsSpooner 2021-02-28 14:24

Huge congratulations! Praise God for your dedication to His word.
Just out of interest do you think you will continue learning a new verse every day now?

Luli2016 2021-02-28 15:06

Thank you MrsSpooner!
I would definitely like to continue learning a new verse every day for as long as I can.
The main reason for this is so that not only I can abide in the Word in way that guides and guards me in all aspects of life but also strengthens my faith when reason and sense leave me wondering.
I hope this makes sense.

You did it! I am so happy for you! When I first joined the site, I decided I was going to do three years because no one had ever done it before. I'll admit, I used to check everyone on the leader list hoping that each of you would miss a day so I could be the first. But then, as the days drug on, I realized how difficult it is to do it. And why no one has ever done it before. Then my attitude started to change. I began to feel bad when someone at the top would miss a day, because I knew how painful that must be. But all along, you just kept chugging toward the goal. And oddly enough, I found myself legitimately getting excited for my "competition" because it dawned on me that you guys aren't my competition. We're all on the same team. Needless to say, when I saw you got it this morning my heart leaped! I am a relative noob to this site at close to 6 months, but I know full well how hard it is with the pandemic, and the holidays, and the vacations (not to mention the days you just don't feel like logging in) to keep adding a verse every day. One day I almost forgot to login because I got busy and almost lost my streak for nothing, but i digress. I can't even imagine doing all that for three years! Well, I can now! I don't know if I'll ever meet you up there at the top, but at least now I know its possible! So happy! So proud!

nicely said, onf247

Luli2016 2021-02-28 17:48

That is so very kind of you onfire247!
I have to admit that I felt a little more determined to reach this goal by the cheering support from you all, and at the same time I felt accountable for doing all I could.
Had I thought of the badge only I think I would have never gotten this far.
Initially, I hoped I would be as consistent as JDJDJD, joosep, Annette, and many others whose names I can’t remember, but then I thought, why stop now.
That’s how all happened!
However, the main goal remains the same!

Symota 2021-02-28 19:49

Let me add my heartfelt congratulations to you, Luli2016! I’m so happy and thankful to God for enabling you to reach this amazing milestone. May you be richly blessed as you work on your goal to memorize the Gospel of John. 👏🏽 🥳

biblememorizerCamilaParker 2021-02-28 20:58

Congratulations! This is an awesome accomplishment!

JDJDJD 2021-02-28 22:43

Oh my! You did it! Amazing. I know that is so hard to do and shows such commitment. Well done and thanks for showing us it is possible. I definitely get so much more when I add a verse a day. Praying you will be blessed by all the scripture now tucked away in your heart. Stay blessed. You are an inspiration! And I’m so proud of you and happy for you. Not for the badge but for the fruit in your life. (Although the badge is great too 🥳😉)

Well done Luli and congratulations on being the first to achieve Consistent Learner level 10!

Out of all the scripture learning I do on this site, I must say that I mostly enjoy adding new verses and going over them in the initial days. BUT, as we all know, it does add length to the practice list - so you have done exceeding well to persevere daily without fail for a full three years!

A piece of advice to others who would like to achieve this level; do it BEFORE you already have a lot of verses to practice - otherwise you may eventually become overwhelmed by your practice list and neglect to log on.

rvfc2 2021-03-01 03:04

Congratulations, Luli! May God bless you and may the Holy Spirit teach you and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever He has taught you in your study. :)

PeterP 2021-03-01 07:04

Congratulations indeed, Luli. Three years is an amazing achievement, and I’m very pleased you’ve been able to claim the badge that Luke added. But more than the badge, I think that the daily practice you’ve developed of memory and meditation will bring its own reward in your relationship with God. I pray that you will know his blessing as you walk with him, whether or not you continue to add a new verse each day.

joosep 2021-03-01 07:18

amen, PeterP

Luli2016 2021-03-01 07:37

Thank you T-rey, Symota, biblememorizerCamilaParker and rvfc2 for your kind thoughts!
Thank you Janet, AnnetteCN and PeterP for your example and encouraging support along the way, which has made the journey much more enjoyable and rewarding.
I totally agree with AnnetteCN in relation to the long list of reviewing which at times gets overwhelming.
My only advice would be select passages that you really enjoy and intend to memorise.
If you are thinking of memorising a whole book, e.g. the book of Ephesians, make sure you break it into section or chapter. Having to review the whole 155 verses, (if I’m not mistaken) in one go and trying to add a new verse can feel like mission impossible.
Thank you once again for all your encouragement and fellowship.

AnnetteCN 2021-03-01 11:38

Thanks, yes there is a change I have made after being on this site for 5 years and being overwhelmed daily with long Review lists in which you need to practice all your verses for the sake of the one or two verses that may be due for review.

I now add sections (chapters) of the Bible and purposely keep them in the "Learn" section by not starting on the final verses until most of the verses are learned and finished. That way, only the verses that need practising come up for review - usually just a couple. Also, I have changed over to first letter typing. Hope this helps someone!

onfire247 2021-03-01 12:17

That is great advice AnnetteCN. I, too, have struggled with long chapters that require the entire chapter to be repeated constantly because of one or two verses that refuse to stick. John 6 comes to mind (71 verses). I inwardly groan every time that chapter comes up, and I've struggled not to have a bad attitude about it. I've tried breaking the chapters down into smaller chunks, but the same problem exists but on a smaller scale. Plus the chunks lose their connections to each other. I like the idea of not learning the last verse to avoid it kicking over into that mode. Better yet, I wish there was an option to disable that feature. I know you can do verse chunks instead of the whole chapter, but again, you are back to the chunking problems above.
