I will join ur group Susan_Likes_Superbook, what is it called?

Susan_Likes_Superbook 2021-02-17 14:37

I'll make another group like this since quite a few people are not online :(

PeterP 2019-08-02 07:00

I’m going to add Revelation 1 this month, having caught up with my review backlog, and ready to start a new chapter. I learned Revelation 22 a couple of years ago, and I only just noticed this morning how many of the same phrases appear in the first and the last chapter of the book.

FinalAsgard 2019-08-01 14:56

This month's chapter (according to https://www.collegeofprayer.org/camc.html) is Revelation 1. Here is the verse set that I will be working on: https://learnscripture.net/verse-set/revelation-1-7/

FinalAsgard 2019-07-23 14:40

I have fallen way behind in this, but I'm here to try to catch up. Luckily, July is an easy chapter. :D https://learnscripture.net/verse-set/psalm-15/?version=ESV Anybody else with me on this challenge?

KC49425 2019-05-15 14:21

sorry.

KC49425 2019-05-01 21:33

BUT MY FREAKING COMPUTER IS RESTRICTED TO EVERYTHING BUT ALLOWED SITES

KC49425 2019-05-01 21:24

and yes I finished Psalm 16

KC49425 2019-05-01 21:21
FinalAsgard 2019-05-01 21:21

Finished what? Psalm 16? That's the focus for this month. If you want more to do... Maybe catch up on a month that you missed?

Here is the link to the schedule: https://www.collegeofprayer.org/camc.html

KC49425 2019-05-01 21:18

I just finished it a few minutes ago... what verse set should I do now. And please, make it complicated.

KC49425 2019-05-01 20:59

I just use esv. You can change it if you want!

KC49425 2019-05-01 20:58

You are very welcome! :D

FinalAsgard 2019-05-01 15:16

Thanks for the verse set. I kind of stumbled on here and went a few days without learning a new verse and broke my streak. So I didn't finish John 15... I'm almost done, though, and since Psalm 16 is only 11 verses I should be able to finish both before the end of May. :)

KC49425 2019-04-30 23:51
KC49425 2019-04-30 23:50

but to help, this is a link to psalm 16: https://learnscripture.net/verse-set/psalm-16/?version=ESV

KC49425 2019-04-30 23:49

... I can't

Worm 2019-04-28 20:14

John 15 is a much read chapter, so most of the verses are familiar. Psalm 16 will be tougher, but John 15 has gone quite well.

PeterP 2019-04-22 05:34

Hello all. I agree that John 15 is a good chapter. I’ve started about two-thirds of it so far, and I’m enjoying it. I’m not doing every chapter on this list though, because I’ve slowed down my rate of adding new verses in order to manage the backlog of verses to review!

FinalAsgard 2019-04-22 00:32

Awesome! Good luck. :) Some of the upcoming months have really short chapters for this challenge so you'll have time to catch up. It's a really good chapter.

Worm 2019-04-21 20:53

I'm a bit late, but I'm going to try John 15.

FinalAsgard 2019-04-17 13:47

12 days left in this month and I still have 18 verses to go... Not too far behind but still, I need to work a bit harder on this

FinalAsgard 2019-04-10 01:09

https://learnscripture.net/verse-set/john-15-3/?version=CSB Here is the verse set that I'm doing for the April challenge.

FinalAsgard 2019-04-09 21:09

Oh, the goal of this group is to follow that specific schedule. Interesting. Okay... John 15 is the chapter for April. I'm up for that challenge.

(NOTE: I know nothing of College of Prayer, or what they believe, and am not endorsing them, but I can get on board with the goal of memorizing a certain chapter of the Bible with anyone, if I agree with their theology or not)

FinalAsgard 2019-04-09 21:02

I'm currently working on James 1. I hope to get through chapter 1 and 2 this month.

joosep 2019-01-03 01:04

I plan to work on Job chapter 1 for the month of January. What are other people here working on?

Sylavash 2018-11-01 23:06

I do once in a while, but I haven't been around for a bit. Can anyone update the link: https://www.collegeofprayer.org/camc.html

PeterP 2018-04-03 12:36

Is anybody following the chapter-of-the-month schedule? I’ve just realised it has taken me 3 months to add Romans 6, while dealing with a busier life and my review backlog here on LearnScripture.
So for the time being, I think I’ll have to consider it as the chapter-of-the-quarter club! :-)

PeterP 2018-01-01 07:33

Happy New Year, everyone. I find I am in the same position as you, GSHd. I’m already learning more than half of this year’s list, so I will select some other chapters instead. Romans 6 will be the next one for me from this list.

GSHd 2017-12-31 22:58

Happy New Year to all ye members of this club! For this year 2018 there is a very interesting and challenging choice of Scriptures which will delight you while memorizing them. For me, though, I have already done most of them, so I'll have to think of other chapters! Enjoy learning them!☺

PeterP 2017-10-14 12:12

Yes, and the first part of the chapter has the same theme - we'd like to put on our heavenly body and be with the Lord, but he has a ministry for us here while we are still in this 'tent'.

Robinshe 2017-10-14 06:37

Who´s reading 2 Cor 5 this month? Verse 17 (If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation...) is a familiar verse, but I am struck by how strongly and clearly the context around the verse is a message of mission and ministry - we have been reconciled to God and have been given the job of communicating this news to others.

Gilligan 2017-09-08 07:35

Hi ICanDoAllThings - I hope you're encouraged and blessed by this site. I've just finished last month's 'chapter of the month' Acts 2. It is amazing how much more you see when you learn a chapter.

I joined the site to learn psalms but have been led to look closely at many other passages of scripture. Psalm 139 was one of the first things I learnt here - so for the rest of the month I'll be learning Psalm 34. I work at a slow, verse a day, rate.

ICanDoAllThings 2017-09-07 14:42

Hi everyone I was invited by PeterP and I'm just so happy 😊 to be heeeere!!!
I already have for the month of Sept. Psalm 139 all the way up to verse 18 committed to memory already. It is literally a split between ESV AND NJKV because in my beginning stages when I first got started in making memorization a life habit I was fluctuating between different versions. Then I committed to only using my NKJV. Now Literally I'll have to learn both NKJV AND KJV because of here lol 😂... it is okay but will just be a tab bit harder and longer, but hey I'll have it!!!

I never finished it and moved on to memorizing other scriptures and said I would get back to it but now with a challenge I'll feel more motivate to finish it....

traceyholding 2017-08-29 07:32

Thank you! Time to look up another chapter.

PeterP 2017-08-11 12:38

They seem to have moved it. New link is http://www.collegeofprayer.org/camc.html

traceyholding 2017-08-11 09:13

This link to the chapter list no longer works!

PeterP 2017-05-31 06:13

Just added the final verse of Proverbs 16 this morning. I can see they will be tricky to master, because I'm finding it difficult to remember how each verse starts!
Looking forward to Matthew 24, starting tomorrow. It's a long book though. I've decided my target is to do v1-31.

Gilligan 2017-05-30 07:58

How are you doing with Proverbs 16? I think v20 is particularly appropriate for this site 'Whoever gives thought tho the word will discover good....'. I'm looking forward to Matthew next month.

GSHd 2017-05-01 16:32

Well, I've learned Proverbs 16, so I will start learning the first chapter of the book of Proverbs which has been on the back of my mind for quite a while.
