Description

This set is divided into three sections:

  1. The Invisible Church - The true Church made up of those that have truly put their faith in Jesus Christ
  2. The Visible Church (Starts at 1 Corinthians 1:2) - The visible church is made up of the invisible Church as well as those that profess to believe, but in their heart, are in rebellion against God
  3. Church Government (Starts at Ezekiel 43:11)

Verses

  • Ephesians 1:22-23: And God put all things under Christ's feet, and he gave him to the church as head over all things. Now the church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

  • 1 Corinthians 12:18: But as a matter of fact, God has placed each of the members in the body just as he decided.

  • Revelation 7:9: After these things I looked, and here was an enormous crowd that no one could count, made up of persons from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb dressed in long white robes, and with palm branches in their hands.

  • Psalm 2:8: Ask me, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the ends of the earth as your personal property.

  • Hebrews 12:23: and congregation of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous, who have been made perfect,

  • Romans 9:6: It is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all those who are descended from Israel are truly Israel,

  • Matthew 7:21: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven - only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

  • 1 John 2:19: They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us, because if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But they went out from us to demonstrate that all of them do not belong to us.

  • 1 Corinthians 11:19: For there must in fact be divisions among you, so that those of you who are approved may be evident.

  • 1 Corinthians 1:2: to the church of God that is in Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, and called to be saints, with all those in every place who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.

  • Genesis 17:7: I will confirm my covenant as a perpetual covenant between me and you. It will extend to your descendants after you throughout their generations. I will be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

  • Ezekiel 16:20-21: "'You took your sons and your daughters whom you bore to me and you sacrificed them as food for the idols to eat. As if your prostitution not enough, you slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols.

  • Deuteronomy 5:2-3: The LORD our God made a covenant with us at Horeb. He did not make this covenant with our ancestors but with us, we who are here today, all of us living now.

  • Deuteronomy 30:6: The LORD your God will also cleanse your heart and the hearts of your descendants so that you may love him with all your mind and being and so that you may live.

  • Psalm 22:9-10: Yes, you are the one who brought me out from the womb and made me feel secure on my mother's breasts. I have been dependent on you since birth; from the time I came out of my mother's womb you have been my God.

  • Acts 2:39: For the promise is for you and your children, and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call to himself."

  • Acts 16:31: They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household."

  • 1 Corinthians 7:14: For the unbelieving husband is sanctified because of the wife, and the unbelieving wife because of her husband. Otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.

  • Matthew 28:19-20: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

  • Ezekiel 13:9: My hand will be against the prophets who see delusion and announce lying omens. They will not be included in the council of my people, nor be written in the registry of the house of Israel, nor enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the sovereign LORD.

  • Acts 2:47: praising God and having the good will of all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number every day those who were being saved.

  • Matthew 18:17: If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. If he refuses to listen to the church, treat him like a Gentile or a tax collector.

  • 1 Corinthians 5:2: And you are proud! Shouldn't you have been deeply sorrowful instead and removed the one who did this from among you?

  • Ezekiel 43:11: When they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the temple, its pattern, its exits and entrances, and its whole design - all its statutes, its entire design, and all its laws; write it all down in their sight, so that they may observe its entire design and all its statutes and do them.

  • Deuteronomy 12:32: You must be careful to do everything I am commanding you. Do not add to it or subtract from it!

  • Hebrews 13:17: Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work. Let them do this with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you.

  • Acts 6:3: But carefully select from among you, brothers, seven men who are well-attested, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may put in charge of this necessary task.

  • Acts 6:6: They stood these men before the apostles, who prayed and placed their hands on them.

  • Acts 14:23: When they had appointed elders for them in the various churches, with prayer and fasting they entrusted them to the protection of the Lord in whom they had believed.

  • Acts 20:17: From Miletus he sent a message to Ephesus, telling the elders of the church to come to him.

  • Acts 20:28: Watch out for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.

  • Philippians 1:1: From Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the overseers and deacons.

  • 1 Timothy 5:17: Elders who provide effective leadership must be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard in speaking and teaching.

  • Titus 1:5-6: The reason I left you in Crete was to set in order the remaining matters and to appoint elders in every town, as I directed you. An elder must be blameless, the husband of one wife, with faithful children who cannot be charged with dissipation or rebellion.

  • 1 Corinthians 14:34: the women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak. Rather, let them be in submission, as in fact the law says.

  • 1 Timothy 2:11-12: A woman must learn quietly with all submissiveness. But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man. She must remain quiet.

  • 1 Timothy 3:10: And these also must be tested first and then let them serve as deacons if they are found blameless.

  • 1 Timothy 3:12: Deacons must be husbands of one wife and good managers of their children and their own households.

  • 1 Corinthians 9:14: In the same way the Lord commanded those who proclaim the gospel to receive their living by the gospel.

  • Acts 15:2: When Paul and Barnabas had a major argument and debate with them, the church appointed Paul and Barnabas and some others from among them to go up to meet with the apostles and elders in Jerusalem about this point of disagreement.

  • Acts 1:21-22: Thus one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time the Lord Jesus associated with us, beginning from his baptism by John until the day he was taken up from us - one of these must become a witness of his resurrection together with us."

  • 1 Corinthians 15:8-9: Last of all, as though to one born at the wrong time, he appeared to me also. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
