Verses

  • John 1:12: But to all who have received him - those who believe in his name - he has given the right to become God's children

  • John 3:6-7: What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must all be born from above.'

  • John 3:16-17: For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

  • John 4:23-24: But a time is coming - and now is here - when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers. God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

  • John 5:39: You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same scriptures that testify about me,

  • John 5:41: "I do not accept praise from people,

  • John 5:44: How can you believe, if you accept praise from one another and don't seek the praise that comes from the only God?

  • John 6:63: The Spirit is the one who gives life; human nature is of no help! The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

  • John 7:37-39: On the last day of the feast, the greatest day, Jesus stood up and shouted out, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. Just as the scripture says, 'From within him will flow rivers of living water.'" (Now he said this about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were going to receive, for the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

  • John 8:12: Then Jesus spoke out again, "I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

  • John 8:30-32: While he was saying these things, many people believed in him. Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, "If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

  • John 8:36: So if the son sets you free, you will be really free.

  • John 8:44: You people are from your father the devil, and you want to do what your father desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.

  • John 9:4: We must perform the deeds of the one who sent me as long as it is daytime. Night is coming when no one can work.

  • John 10:10: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

  • John 11:25-26: Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies, and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

  • John 12:24: I tell you the solemn truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces much grain.

  • John 13:17: If you understand these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

  • John 13:34-35: "I give you a new commandment - to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. Everyone will know by this that you are my disciples - if you have love for one another."

  • John 14:1-3: "Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me. There are many dwelling places in my Father's house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you. And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too.

  • John 14:6: Jesus replied, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

  • John 14:12: I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing, and will perform greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father.

  • John 14:15: "If you love me, you will obey my commandments.

  • John 14:16-17: Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever - the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he resides with you and will be in you.

  • John 14:26: But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and will cause you to remember everything I said to you.

  • John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.

  • John 15:7: If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you.

  • John 15:12-13: My commandment is this - to love one another just as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this - that one lays down his life for his friends.

  • John 15:16: You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

  • John 15:26: When the Advocate comes, whom I will send you from the Father - the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father - he will testify about me,

  • John 16:7: But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you.

  • John 16:8-11: And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong concerning sin and righteousness and judgment - concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been condemned.

  • John 16:23-24: At that time you will ask me nothing. I tell you the solemn truth, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it, so that your joy may be complete.

  • John 17:17: Set them apart in the truth; your word is truth.

  • John 20:30-31: Now Jesus performed many other miraculous signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
