All of these scriptures are in the ESV (2007) format. The scriptures are organized as follows. The first few Bible verses are geared toward showing you that you have through the Holy Spirit both the knowledge and the power to memorize as many scriptures as you want. The second set explains why Bible memorization is essential to every believer. The third set is a collection of powerful scriptures that are also short enough to prove to yourself that you're capable of memorizing the Word. Finally, the rest include a plethora of good verses relevant to all aspects of the Christian walk.

  • Philippians 4:13: I am able to do all things through the one who strengthens me.

  • Mark 9:23: Then Jesus said to him, "'If you are able?' All things are possible for the one who believes."

  • Hebrews 11:6: Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

  • 1 John 2:20: Nevertheless you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:58: So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

  • 2 Timothy 2:15: Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who does not need to be ashamed, teaching the message of truth accurately.

  • Psalm 119:11: In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you.

  • Psalm 119:105: Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17: Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.

  • Romans 10:17: Consequently faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ.

  • Matthew 24:35: Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

  • Isaiah 40:8: The grass dries up, the flowers wither, but the decree of our God is forever reliable."

  • Isaiah 55:10: The rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return, but instead water the earth and make it produce and yield crops, and provide seed for the planter and food for those who must eat.

  • Isaiah 55:11: In the same way, the promise that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend."

  • Isaiah 26:3: You keep completely safe the people who maintain their faith, for they trust in you.

  • Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:24: Do not seek your own good, but the good of the other person.

  • James 4:10: Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.

  • Hebrews 11:1-2: Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see. For by it the people of old received God's commendation.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:7: for we live by faith, not by sight.

  • Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!

  • Luke 1:37: For nothing will be impossible with God."

  • Luke 6:31: Treat others in the same way that you would want them to treat you.

  • John 15:12: My commandment is this - to love one another just as I have loved you.

  • John 10:14: "I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me -

  • John 8:36: So if the son sets you free, you will be really free.

  • Deuteronomy 6:4-5: Listen, Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! You must love the LORD your God with your whole mind, your whole being, and all your strength.

  • 2 Timothy 1:7: For God did not give us a Spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.

  • Galatians 6:2: Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

  • Proverbs 3:7-8: Do not be wise in your own estimation; fear the LORD and turn away from evil. This will bring healing to your body, and refreshment to your inner self.

  • James 1:5-8: But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed around by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord, since he is a double-minded individual, unstable in all his ways.

  • Philippians 4:19: And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

  • James 1:22-25: But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves. For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone who gazes at his own face in a mirror. For he gazes at himself and then goes out and immediately forgets what sort of person he was. But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out - he will be blessed in what he does.

  • 1 John 4:4: You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

  • 2 Chronicles 16:9: Certainly the LORD watches the whole earth carefully and is ready to strengthen those who are devoted to him. You have acted foolishly in this matter; from now on you will have war.

  • 1 Peter 5:6: And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand

  • 1 John 5:2-3: By this we know that we love the children of God: whenever we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God: that we keep his commandments. And his commandments do not weigh us down,

  • 1 Peter 2:24: He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17: So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away - look, what is new has come!

  • Acts 1:8: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth."

  • 2 Peter 3:9-10: The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; when it comes, the heavens will disappear with a horrific noise, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze, and the earth and every deed done on it will be laid bare.

  • Acts 10:34-35: Then Peter started speaking: "I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people, but in every nation the person who fears him and does what is right is welcomed before him.

  • Colossians 1:13: He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son he loves,

  • Ecclesiastes 12:13: Having heard everything, I have reached this conclusion: Fear God and keep his commandments, because this is the whole duty of man.

  • Galatians 5:24: Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

  • Habakkuk 3:17-19: When the fig tree does not bud, and there are no grapes on the vines; when the olive trees do not produce, and the fields yield no crops; when the sheep disappear from the pen, and there are no cattle in the stalls, I will rejoice because of the LORD; I will be happy because of the God who delivers me! The sovereign LORD is my source of strength. He gives me the agility of a deer; he enables me to negotiate the rugged terrain. (This prayer is for the song leader. It is to be accompanied by stringed instruments.)

  • Galatians 6:7-8: Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, because the person who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

  • Hebrews 4:14-16: Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

  • Isaiah 54:17: No weapon forged to be used against you will succeed; you will refute everyone who tries to accuse you. This is what the LORD will do for his servants - I will vindicate them," says the LORD.

  • Hebrews 12:1-2: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

  • James 1:27: Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

  • Hebrews 13:5: Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you and I will never abandon you."

  • James 4:7-8: So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded.

  • John 8:31-32: Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, "If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

  • John 10:10: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

  • James 5:16: So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.

  • Luke 6:38: Give, and it will be given to you: A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be poured into your lap. For the measure you use will be the measure you receive."

  • John 14:12-14: I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing, and will perform greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

  • John 14:15-17: "If you love me, you will obey my commandments. Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever - the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he resides with you and will be in you.

  • Luke 10:19: Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you.

  • John 14:21: The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him."

  • John 16:23-24: At that time you will ask me nothing. I tell you the solemn truth, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it, so that your joy may be complete.

  • Matthew 7:7-8: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

  • John 15:7-8: If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you. My Father is honored by this, that you bear much fruit and show that you are my disciples.

  • Luke 17:5-6: The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" So the Lord replied, "If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this black mulberry tree, 'Be pulled out by the roots and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

  • Matthew 16:19: I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven."

  • Micah 6:8: He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the LORD really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.

  • Matthew 17:20: He told them, "It was because of your little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; nothing will be impossible for you."

  • Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
