Description

We are instructed from scripture to not only Pursue love, but also to - put on love, increase and abound in love, be fervent in love. The verses in this set cover this and other aspects to remind us of the importance of loving others.

Verses

  • 1 Corinthians 14:1: Pursue love and be eager for the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

  • Colossians 3:14: And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond.

  • 1 Thessalonians 3:12: And may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another and for all, just as we do for you,

  • Philippians 1:9-10: And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight so that you can decide what is best, and thus be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ,

  • 1 Peter 4:8: Above all keep your love for one another fervent, because love covers a multitude of sins.

  • Matthew 22:37-39: Jesus said to him, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

  • John 13:34-35: "I give you a new commandment - to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. Everyone will know by this that you are my disciples - if you have love for one another."

  • John 15:9: "Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain in my love.

  • Luke 6:31: Treat others in the same way that you would want them to treat you.

  • Romans 13:10: Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

  • 2 Thessalonians 1:3: We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.

  • 1 John 3:10-11: By this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed: Everyone who does not practice righteousness - the one who does not love his fellow Christian - is not of God. For this is the gospel message that you have heard from the beginning: that we should love one another,

  • Revelation 2:4: But I have this against you: You have departed from your first love!
