Description

A Christian is to be a soldier, not in terms of physical conflicts, but spiritual- He is to win the wars in his mind against sin, bringing his very body into subjection to the law of God. He must be an overcomer for every struggle in life.

This is broken into two sets, Spiritual Warfare and Spiritual Armaments.

Verses

  • Romans 7:23: But I see a different law in my members waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that is in my members.

  • 2 Corinthians 10:4: for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down arguments

  • Ephesians 6:12: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.

  • 1 Timothy 1:18: I put this charge before you, Timothy my child, in keeping with the prophecies once spoken about you, in order that with such encouragement you may fight the good fight.

  • 1 Timothy 6:12: Compete well for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession for in the presence of many witnesses.

  • 2 Timothy 2:4: No one in military service gets entangled in matters of everyday life; otherwise he will not please the one who recruited him.
