janet23 2020-04-27 23:58

Hi Learners of Psalms.. How have you been fellowshipping during this lockdown period?

janet23 2020-04-25 14:36

Yes MarthaC we know that He is good and what he is working is good.

MarthaC 2020-04-25 10:12

At times like this I live to remember Romans 8:28 For we know that God works all things together for good to those who are called according to His purposes.

janet23 2020-04-19 09:07

Bless the Lord O my soul

JDJDJD 2020-04-07 21:36

Thanks for asking Janet23. I was wondering too how everyone is getting on. It's certainly a time when I don't know where I'd be without my faith in God. Every area of life seems to be affected. Praying the world turns back to God in repentance.

janet23 2020-04-07 00:58

Is everyone doing okay in this time of trial the world is facing?

janet23 2020-04-02 09:12

Keep me as the apple of your eye, hide me in the shadow of your wings.psalm 17: 8

janet23 2020-03-28 11:38

Psalm 91 is getting a workout on social media with this virus on the loose! What are your other Psalm verses about God's protection?

janet23 2020-03-19 05:24

Psalm 150 only . Still working on the others

KKAAII11 2020-03-19 00:14

Hey! sorry I have not been on the internet since the beginning of March. Also good job to Janet23 to finishing Psalms!!!

janet23 2020-03-14 10:17

Just completed Psalm 150 100% 'Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! A great verse to end the book of Psalms!

joosep 2020-03-14 06:37

I agree with RoseMarie and janet23. Our pastor here in Estonia sent Psalm 91 to us in an e-mail.

RoseMarie 2020-03-14 05:16

YES!!!

janet23 2020-03-14 04:28

I agree the fear is spreading and we must be unafraid! For the Lord our God is with us

joosep 2020-03-13 10:16

Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”

Verses 5 and 6 go on to talk about terror and pestilence. Let's choose not to be afraid, but through prayer and God's Word and the comfort of the Holy Spirit, let us choose instead to trust Him :)

Psalm 33:22
Let thy mercy, O Lord be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

JDJDJD 2020-03-12 15:02

Psalm 119:2 just popped up for revision. “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.”

janet23 2020-03-12 02:31

Hi all, what verses from the Psalms are encouraging you today?

janet23 — on news item “Beautiful joined group Learners of Psalms”: 2020-03-10 21:08

Welcome to Learners of Psalms. And sharing your learning journey with us

joosep 2020-03-05 14:14

impressive indeed! As to marking in my Bible the verses I'm learning, that's really a very good idea ...

janet23 2020-03-05 11:21

That leaves 133 Psalms to go! 😂🎶

janet23 2020-03-05 11:20

My whole PSALMS are 1,8,19,23,24,46,67,82, 100,117,121,127,130,131,133,134,and 150

janet23 2020-03-05 11:15

Does anyone else mark in their Bible the verses they are learning??

joosep 2020-03-05 03:48

Yes I agree with you janet23 :)

janet23 2020-03-02 09:46

Just started another great Psalm 82,

janet23 2020-02-26 04:17

I went to a sing the Bible choir which sang a chapter a week of Revelation. It was very powerful. Thanks M for sharing what your fellowship is doing. So good to hear that more places are giving the word of God a greater place in their services.

janet23 2020-02-26 04:11

Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16 tell us to sing His Psalms.

CarterM 2020-02-25 16:06

I haven't got very far with it but my church recently introduced the Book of Psalms for Worship because we weren't really singing Psalms in services and thought it was important to include with other hymns. A number of the tunes are easy to get the hang of so I don't think it will be long before we've memorised some just like you'd memorise a hymn

MrsSpooner 2020-02-25 08:21

I'm going to try it..... thanks for the idea.

janet23 2020-02-25 08:00

Yes mostly, sometimes use a tune I know, MrsSpooner , I sing them , often repeating parts of the Psalm like a chorus

MrsSpooner 2020-02-25 07:00

Do you just make up tunes janet123?

janet23 2020-02-25 04:42

Does anyone else use singing as a way to memorise?🎶🎶🎶🎶

janet23 2020-02-25 03:47

Thanks for your great suggestions,😀 and welcome to Boomerang!

Luli2016 2020-02-24 20:27

I totally agree with Saintman, but will add one more thing. Don’t give up when you score less than 100% after you have mastered a verse or passage, unfortunately it does happen!

Saintman 2020-02-23 23:03

I can suggest a method:
1. Find a Psalm you find inspiring
2. Learn it verse by verse at your own pace, reviewing all verses learned daily
3. Keep practising it until you know it by heart
4. Use it in your devotions/prayer time

janet23 2020-02-23 21:56

Does anyone have any specific strategies for learning Psalms
