Hey i`m new what are some good verses in psalms

janet23 2020-02-05 12:42

Often when I am learning the verses I will sing them. I too will add your suggested verses Rosemarie.

RoseMarie 2020-02-05 11:07

I forgot to tell you that the verses I gave you were taken from that book. I decided not to add anymore until I know what your plans will be.

joosep 2020-02-05 08:36

One more thing, thank you RoseMarie for the book recommendation. It's an excellent thing and very wise to pray God's Word, I think. And Paul said so often to various people, I pray for you always ....

I'm not sure what I will do. I'm not studying all of them yet because at the moment I'm working more on Phillippians and also other older verses in my queue.

But I just thought it would be interesting to have a kind of a crowd-sourced list. But yes you're right RoseMarie, eventually it could get pretty big.

RoseMarie 2020-02-05 06:36

Thanks, Joosep. I happen to have the book Praying the Psalms Changes Things by Lloyd Hildebrand. I was wondering what you are going to do when the list grows bigger?

joosep 2020-02-05 05:38

I added those RoseMarie :) thanks for your input.

janet23 2020-02-05 02:38

Welcome Rosemarie. Looking forward to hearing more about your love of Psalms!

RoseMarie 2020-02-04 23:34

oops, sorry. My suggestion is for janet23.

RoseMarie 2020-02-04 23:32

Hi Joosep. Maybe you would like to add these? 2:12, 14:2,19:7-8, 25:4-5, 29:2, 91:2.

joosep 2020-02-04 06:31

We praise the Lord for that testimony, Janet23 ... I mean about Psalm 91.

In the kingdom of God consistency and faithfulness are much more important than slow or fast, JDJDJD. Though I'm sure you know that already :)

JDJDJD 2020-02-03 23:10

I am a slow learner so I can only do a verse at a time. I would love to learn in sections. It’s great to meditate on what I’m learning.

janet23 2020-02-03 21:57

Psalm 127 I am learning. Reminds me not to go ahead without the Lord, which I am prone to do.

Welcome to KKAAll11 And Summelover2004

janet23 2020-02-03 21:52

Wv Psalm 91- when the fires were threatening in our area, I opened Bibles at Psalm 91 in various rooms. Turned out no disaster came near our tent! Praise the Lord

Amen!

joosep 2020-02-03 16:46

Welcome KKAAII11. Is there some verse from the Psalms on your mind that you'd like to share? :)

KKAAII11 2020-02-03 14:04

Hi

Wv 2020-02-03 13:41

I would have a hard time answering your first question because I like so many of them. My top three favorites are Psalm 91, Psalm 126 and Psalm 127. To answer your second question, I usually learn whole psalms, but occasionally I choose individual verses to start.

janet23 2020-02-03 08:35

What's your favourite Psalm. Do you learn verses or whole psalms or both?

janet23 2020-02-03 04:57

Welcome Wv great to have you here on learners of Psalms

janet23 2020-02-02 23:51

Are you learning in sections or verse by verse? JDJDJD?

JDJDJD 2020-02-02 23:16

Thanks for your welcome Janet23. We had some lovely teaching this morning on psalm 130. It certainly is a lovely Psalm. I’ve just started to learn Psalm 119! Maybe I’ve bitten off more than I can chew 🤔 But I love how it is all about the word of God.

😀♥ The Lord is my light and my salvation ...

Luli2016 — on news item “Luli2016 joined group Learners of Psalms”: 2020-02-02 15:24

Thank you janet23 😉
Psalm 27 is one of my favourites, but currently attempting to learn Psalm 116

janet23 2020-02-02 07:02

When I first started on this site I doubted that I could learn long passages, so I started with the shortest psalms I could find. I am now tackling the ones with up to 8 verses.

Yes welcome JDJDJD and Luli2016 . What Verses from Psalms are you learning. ? The latest full Psalm I have in progress is Psalm 130.

joosep 2020-02-02 02:31

Welcome, to the two new members!

joosep 2020-02-02 02:28

That's yet another verse set to music ... very beautiful :)

janet23 2020-02-02 00:32

O magnify the Lord with me and let us exult His name together! Psalm 34:3

joosep 2020-01-31 14:34

yes, amen! This is a good exchange. There ought to be more members in this group! :)

janet23 2020-01-31 11:46

Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

joosep 2020-01-31 10:30

yes it's really good to remind each other in the Body of Christ of good verses or passages. It's what we are supposed to do for each other. For some reason I had not thought of Psalm 37:4 for quite a while ... somehow I had forgotten it.

janet23 2020-01-31 08:39

I had already added your verse 😀

joosep 2020-01-31 04:11

Thank you. I added 37:4 to my queue. 5 and 23 later :)

janet23 2020-01-30 23:05

Yes that is a great verse . We can get so frozen with fear but He delivers us! I love Psalm 37 working on verses 4,5,23
