Description

Verses that reveal God's heart for sinners who don't yet know him to 'come into his fold'. And which tell us to spread his word so he can use it to bring them in.

Verses

  • Ecclesiastes 11:6: Sow your seed in the morning, and do not stop working until the evening; for you do not know which activity will succeed - whether this one or that one, or whether both will prosper equally.

  • Ezekiel 33:11: Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but prefer that the wicked change his behavior and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil deeds! Why should you die, O house of Israel?'

  • Romans 10:21: But about Israel he says, "All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!"

  • Acts 17:26-27: From one man he made every nation of the human race to inhabit the entire earth, determining their set times and the fixed limits of the places where they would live, so that they would search for God and perhaps grope around for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

  • Acts 17:28: For in him we live and move about and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, 'For we too are his offspring.'

  • Ecclesiastes 3:11: God has made everything fit beautifully in its appropriate time, but he has also placed ignorance in the human heart so that people cannot discover what God has ordained, from the beginning to the end of their lives.

  • Romans 10:14: How are they to call on one they have not believed in? And how are they to believe in one they have not heard of? And how are they to hear without someone preaching to them?

  • Isaiah 55:10-11: The rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return, but instead water the earth and make it produce and yield crops, and provide seed for the planter and food for those who must eat. In the same way, the promise that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend."

  • Acts 10:42-43: He commanded us to preach to the people and to warn them that he is the one appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead. About him all the prophets testify, that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."
