All of God's Word is powerful and piercing, but these are some of my favorite verses that God has used to speak to and change my heart.

Verses

  • Acts 20:24: But I do not consider my life worth anything to myself, so that I may finish my task and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God's grace.

  • Psalm 27:4: I have asked the LORD for one thing - this is what I desire! I want to live in the LORD's house all the days of my life, so I can gaze at the splendor of the LORD and contemplate in his temple.

  • Matthew 11:28-30: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry."

  • 1 John 2:17: And the world is passing away with all its desires, but the person who does the will of God remains forever.

  • Romans 11:33: Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how fathomless his ways!

  • Mark 13:13: You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

  • Psalm 19:14: May my words and my thoughts be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my sheltering rock and my redeemer.

  • Revelation 3:15-17: 'I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot! So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth! Because you say, "I am rich and have acquired great wealth, and need nothing," but do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked,

  • Hebrews 13:8: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!

  • Psalm 27:7-9: Hear me, O LORD, when I cry out! Have mercy on me and answer me! My heart tells me to pray to you, and I do pray to you, O LORD. Do not reject me! Do not push your servant away in anger! You are my deliverer! Do not forsake or abandon me, O God who vindicates me!

  • 1 John 2:28: And now, little children, remain in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink away from him in shame when he comes back.

  • Luke 4:18-19: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

  • Psalm 27:13-14: Where would I be if I did not believe I would experience the LORD's favor in the land of the living? Rely on the LORD! Be strong and confident! Rely on the LORD!

  • Galatians 6:14: But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

  • Exodus 3:14: God said to Moses, "I am that I am." And he said, "You must say this to the Israelites, 'I am has sent me to you.'"

  • Mark 12:29-32: Jesus answered, "The most important is: 'Listen, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." The expert in the law said to him, "That is true, Teacher; you are right to say that he is one, and there is no one else besides him.

  • 2 Thessalonians 3:13: But you, brothers and sisters, do not grow weary in doing what is right.

  • James 3:10: From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. These things should not be so, my brothers and sisters.

  • Psalm 116:6-9: The LORD protects the untrained; I was in serious trouble and he delivered me. Rest once more, my soul, for the LORD has vindicated you. Yes, LORD, you rescued my life from death, and kept my feet from stumbling. I will serve the LORD in the land of the living.

  • John 16:33: I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage - I have conquered the world."

  • Psalm 8:3-5: When I look up at the heavens, which your fingers made, and see the moon and the stars, which you set in place, Of what importance is the human race, that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should pay attention to them, and make them a little less than the heavenly beings? You grant mankind honor and majesty;

  • Philippians 1:6: For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

  • Exodus 4:11-12: The LORD said to him, "Who gave a mouth to man, or who makes a person mute or deaf or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? So now go, and I will be with your mouth and will teach you what you must say."

  • Psalm 119:11: In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you.

  • 2 Timothy 2:22: But keep away from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faithfulness, love, and peace, in company with others who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

  • Matthew 6:26: Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you more valuable than they are?

  • 1 Samuel 15:22: Then Samuel said, "Does the LORD take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as he does in obedience? Certainly, obedience is better than sacrifice; paying attention is better than the fat of rams.

  • Psalm 25:4-5: Make me understand your ways, O LORD! Teach me your paths! Guide me into your truth and teach me. For you are the God who delivers me; on you I rely all day long.

  • Luke 2:29-32: "Now, according to your word, Sovereign Lord, permit your servant to depart in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples: a light, for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel."

  • Isaiah 45:22: Turn to me so you can be delivered, all you who live in the earth's remote regions! For I am God, and I have no peer.

  • Acts 5:29: But Peter and the apostles replied, "We must obey God rather than people.

  • Psalm 4:8: I will lie down and sleep peacefully, for you, LORD, make me safe and secure.

  • Matthew 10:38-39: And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life because of me will find it.

  • James 4:13-15: Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into this or that town and spend a year there and do business and make a profit." You do not know about tomorrow. What is your life like? For you are a puff of smoke that appears for a short time and then vanishes. You ought to say instead, "If the Lord is willing, then we will live and do this or that."

  • Psalm 32:5: Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said, "I will confess my rebellious acts to the LORD." And then you forgave my sins. (Selah)

  • John 8:12: Then Jesus spoke out again, "I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

  • Philippians 1:18-21: What is the result? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is being proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. My confident hope is that I will in no way be ashamed but that with complete boldness, even now as always, Christ will be exalted in my body, whether I live or die. For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain.

  • Psalm 16:5-8: LORD, you give me stability and prosperity; you make my future secure. It is as if I have been given fertile fields or received a beautiful tract of land. I will praise the LORD who guides me; yes, during the night I reflect and learn. I constantly trust in the LORD; because he is at my right hand, I will not be upended.

  • Job 19:25-27: As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and that as the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God, whom I will see for myself, and whom my own eyes will behold, and not another. My heart grows faint within me.

  • Romans 1:16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is God's power for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

  • Revelation 1:8: "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God - the one who is, and who was, and who is still to come - the All-Powerful!

  • Matthew 7:13-14: "Enter through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the way is spacious that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

  • Psalm 28:6-7: The LORD deserves praise, for he has heard my plea for mercy! The LORD strengthens and protects me; I trust in him with all my heart. I am rescued and my heart is full of joy; I will sing to him in gratitude.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17: So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away - look, what is new has come!

  • Romans 12:1-2: Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice - alive, holy, and pleasing to God - which is your reasonable service. Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God - what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

  • Psalm 40:10: I have not failed to tell about your justice; I spoke about your reliability and deliverance; I have not neglected to tell the great assembly about your loyal love and faithfulness.

  • Job 23:10-12: But he knows the pathway that I take; if he tested me, I would come forth like gold. My feet have followed his steps closely; I have kept to his way and have not turned aside. I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my allotted portion.

  • John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.

  • Isaiah 43:1-2: Now, this is what the LORD says, the one who created you, O Jacob, and formed you, O Israel: "Don't be afraid, for I will protect you. I call you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you.

  • 1 John 3:6: Everyone who resides in him does not sin; everyone who sins has neither seen him nor known him.

  • Psalm 18:19: He brought me out into a wide open place; he delivered me because he was pleased with me.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:13: No trial has overtaken you that is not faced by others. And God is faithful: He will not let you be tried beyond what you are able to bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out so that you may be able to endure it.

  • Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

  • Luke 21:36: But stay alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that must happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

  • Psalm 51:1-2: Have mercy on me, O God, because of your loyal love! Because of your great compassion, wipe away my rebellious acts! Wash away my wrongdoing! Cleanse me of my sin!

  • Luke 21:19: By your endurance you will gain your lives.

  • James 4:4: Adulterers, do you not know that friendship with the world means hostility toward God? So whoever decides to be the world's friend makes himself God's enemy.

  • Psalm 30:11-12: Then you turned my lament into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and covered me with joy. So now my heart will sing to you and not be silent; O LORD my God, I will always give thanks to you.

  • Job 23:13-14: But he is unchangeable, and who can change him? Whatever he has desired, he does. For he fulfills his decree against me, and many such things are his plans.

  • Acts 9:31: Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria experienced peace and thus was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, the church increased in numbers.

  • John 14:6: Jesus replied, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

  • Psalm 90:1-2: O Lord, you have been our protector through all generations! Even before the mountains came into existence, or you brought the world into being, you were the eternal God.

  • Hebrews 10:26-27: For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us, but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God's enemies.

  • 1 Corinthians 10:23-24: "Everything is lawful," but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is lawful," but not everything builds others up. Do not seek your own good, but the good of the other person.

  • Psalm 3:5: I rested and slept; I awoke, for the LORD protects me.

  • 1 Timothy 4:8: For "physical exercise has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come."

  • John 10:10-11: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

  • Psalm 42:5: Why are you depressed, O my soul? Why are you upset? Wait for God! For I will again give thanks to my God for his saving intervention.

  • Romans 13:12-14: The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light. Let us live decently as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in discord and jealousy. Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires.

  • Lamentations 3:25-26: The LORD is good to those who trust in him, to the one who seeks him. It is good to wait patiently for deliverance from the LORD.

  • Psalm 51:10-12: Create for me a pure heart, O God! Renew a resolute spirit within me! Do not reject me! Do not take your Holy Spirit away from me! Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance! Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey!

  • Luke 10:41-42: But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the best part; it will not be taken away from her."

  • 1 Corinthians 9:23: I do all these things because of the gospel, so that I can be a participant in it.

  • Isaiah 44:21-22: Remember these things, O Jacob, O Israel, for you are my servant. I formed you to be my servant; O Israel, I will not forget you! I remove the guilt of your rebellious deeds as if they were a cloud, the guilt of your sins as if they were a cloud. Come back to me, for I protect you."

  • Philippians 4:8-9: Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things. And what you learned and received and heard and saw in me, do these things. And the God of peace will be with you.

  • Psalm 13:5-6: But I trust in your faithfulness. May I rejoice because of your deliverance! I will sing praises to the LORD when he vindicates me.

  • Romans 6:1-2: What shall we say then? Are we to remain in sin so that grace may increase? Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it?

  • Psalm 16:9-11: So my heart rejoices and I am happy; My life is safe. You will not abandon me to Sheol; you will not allow your faithful follower to see the Pit. You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolute joy in your presence; you always give me sheer delight.

  • James 1:2-4: My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect effect, so that you will be perfect and complete, not deficient in anything.

  • Matthew 7:21-23: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven - only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day, many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do many powerful deeds?' Then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!'

  • John 15:12: My commandment is this - to love one another just as I have loved you.

  • 1 John 4:18: There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love.

  • Romans 13:10: Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

  • Matthew 10:27: What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light, and what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops.

  • Psalm 18:28-30: Indeed, you are my lamp, LORD. My God illuminates the darkness around me. Indeed, with your help I can charge against an army; by my God's power I can jump over a wall. The one true God acts in a faithful manner; the LORD's promise is reliable; he is a shield to all who take shelter in him.

  • Romans 3:23-25: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. God publicly displayed him at his death as the mercy seat accessible through faith. This was to demonstrate his righteousness, because God in his forbearance had passed over the sins previously committed.

  • 2 Timothy 4:5: You, however, be self-controlled in all things, endure hardship, do an evangelist's work, fulfill your ministry.

  • Matthew 16:15-16: He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

  • 1 Corinthians 11:1: Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.

  • John 11:25-27: Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies, and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" She replied, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God who comes into the world."

  • Psalm 94:17-19: If the LORD had not helped me, I would have laid down in the silence of death. If I say, "My foot is slipping," your loyal love, O LORD, supports me. When worries threaten to overwhelm me, your soothing touch makes me happy.

  • Ephesians 1:3-6: Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ. For he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world that we may be holy and unblemished in his sight in love. He did this by predestining us to adoption as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will - to the praise of the glory of his grace that he has freely bestowed on us in his dearly loved Son.

  • Mark 4:40: And he said to them, "Why are you cowardly? Do you still not have faith?"

  • 2 Corinthians 12:8-10: I asked the Lord three times about this, that it would depart from me. But he said to me, "My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

  • 1 John 5:7-8: For there are three that testify, the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three are in agreement.

  • Philippians 4:4: Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!

  • Hebrews 9:14: how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our consciences from dead works to worship the living God.

  • John 13:14: If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you too ought to wash one another's feet.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:56-57: The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

  • Isaiah 41:10: Don't be afraid, for I am with you! Don't be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you - yes, I help you - yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand!

  • Psalm 22:10: I have been dependent on you since birth; from the time I came out of my mother's womb you have been my God.

  • Romans 6:13: and do not present your members to sin as instruments to be used for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments to be used for righteousness.

  • James 2:14-17: What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm and eat well," but you do not give them what the body needs, what good is it? So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.

  • John 3:16-17: For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

  • Romans 8:37-39: No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • Galatians 6:9: So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up.

  • Psalm 25:16-18: Turn toward me and have mercy on me, for I am alone and oppressed! Deliver me from my distress; rescue me from my suffering! See my pain and suffering! Forgive all my sins!

  • Galatians 2:20: I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

  • Matthew 9:13: Go and learn what this saying means: 'I want mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

  • Acts 4:32-33: The group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, and no one said that any of his possessions was his own, but everything was held in common. With great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on them all.

  • Psalm 42:1-2: As a deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God! I thirst for God, for the living God. I say, "When will I be able to go and appear in God's presence?"

  • 1 John 3:10: By this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed: Everyone who does not practice righteousness - the one who does not love his fellow Christian - is not of God.

  • Romans 10:9: because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:10: But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been in vain. In fact, I worked harder than all of them - yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

  • Psalm 51:15-17: O Lord, give me the words! Then my mouth will praise you. Certainly you do not want a sacrifice, or else I would offer it; you do not desire a burnt sacrifice. The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit - O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.

  • 1 Timothy 6:11-12: But you, as a person dedicated to God, keep away from all that. Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness. Compete well for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession for in the presence of many witnesses.

  • Luke 17:10: So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say, 'We are slaves undeserving of special praise; we have only done what was our duty.'"

  • Romans 5:3-5: Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

  • James 1:12: Happy is the one who endures testing, because when he has proven to be genuine, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him.

  • John 15:18-19: "If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

  • Psalm 46:10: He says, "Stop your striving and recognize that I am God! I will be exalted over the nations! I will be exalted over the earth!"

  • Galatians 4:6-7: And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, who calls "Abba! Father!" So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if you are a son, then you are also an heir through God.

  • Revelation 2:3-5: I am also aware that you have persisted steadfastly, endured much for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary. But I have this against you: You have departed from your first love! Therefore, remember from what high state you have fallen and repent! Do the deeds you did at the first; if not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place - that is, if you do not repent.

  • Ephesians 3:20-21: Now to him who by the power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

  • John 6:63: The Spirit is the one who gives life; human nature is of no help! The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

  • Matthew 9:36-38: When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were bewildered and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest."

  • Ephesians 6:10-11: Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

  • Psalm 62:1-2: For God alone I patiently wait; he is the one who delivers me. He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended.

  • 2 Timothy 4:7-8: I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith! Finally the crown of righteousness is reserved for me. The Lord, the righteous Judge, will award it to me in that day - and not to me only, but also to all who have set their affection on his appearing.

  • Matthew 10:32-33: "Whoever, then, acknowledges me before people, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever denies me before people, I will deny him also before my Father in heaven.

  • Romans 8:6: For the outlook of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,

  • Micah 6:8: He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the LORD really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.

  • 1 John 4:10-11: In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, if God so loved us, then we also ought to love one another.

  • Romans 7:4: So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you could be joined to another, to the one who was raised from the dead, to bear fruit to God.

  • Philippians 1:9-11: And I pray this, that your love may abound even more and more in knowledge and every kind of insight so that you can decide what is best, and thus be sincere and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.

  • 1 John 1:5-7: Now this is the gospel message we have heard from him and announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth. But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

  • John 17:22-23: The glory you gave to me I have given to them, that they may be one just as we are one - I in them and you in me - that they may be completely one, so that the world will know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me.

  • Colossians 3:12-15: Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if someone happens to have a complaint against anyone else. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others. And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond. Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart (for you were in fact called as one body to this peace), and be thankful.

  • John 6:66-69: After this many of his disciples quit following him and did not accompany him any longer. So Jesus said to the twelve, "You don't want to go away too, do you?" Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God!"
