  • Deuteronomy 4:7: In fact, what other great nation has a god so near to them like the LORD our God whenever we call on him?

  • Judges 2:12: They abandoned the LORD God of their ancestors who brought them out of the land of Egypt. They followed other gods - the gods of the nations who lived around them. They worshiped them and made the LORD angry.

  • Galatians 4:4-5: But when the appropriate time had come, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we may be adopted as sons with full rights.

  • 1 Samuel 15:22: Then Samuel said, "Does the LORD take pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as he does in obedience? Certainly, obedience is better than sacrifice; paying attention is better than the fat of rams.

  • 2 Timothy 4:17: But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message would be fully proclaimed for all the Gentiles to hear. And so I was delivered from the lion's mouth!

  • Psalm 23:1-3: The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He takes me to lush pastures, he leads me to refreshing water. He restores my strength. He leads me down the right paths for the sake of his reputation.

  • Psalm 51:10-13: Create for me a pure heart, O God! Renew a resolute spirit within me! Do not reject me! Do not take your Holy Spirit away from me! Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance! Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey! Then I will teach rebels your merciful ways, and sinners will turn to you.

  • Psalm 119:7-8: I will give you sincere thanks, when I learn your just regulations. I will keep your statutes. Do not completely abandon me!

  • Psalm 119:9-11: How can a young person maintain a pure life? By guarding it according to your instructions! With all my heart I seek you. Do not allow me to stray from your commands! In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you.

  • Psalm 139:1-3: O LORD, you examine me and know. You know when I sit down and when I get up; even from far away you understand my motives. You carefully observe me when I travel or when I lie down to rest; you are aware of everything I do.

  • Psalm 139:15-16: my bones were not hidden from you, when I was made in secret and sewed together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was inside the womb. All the days ordained for me were recorded in your scroll before one of them came into existence.

  • Proverbs 1:7: Fearing the LORD is the beginning of moral knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

  • Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.
