Description

The overriding theme all through scripture is that God loves us. These are a few of the verses that remind us how he is always here for us.

Verses

  • Psalm 121:1-3: I look up toward the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Creator of heaven and earth! May he not allow your foot to slip! May your protector not sleep!

  • John 3:16: For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

  • Romans 5:8: But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  • Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose,

  • Romans 8:38-39: For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:14: For the love of Christ controls us, since we have concluded this, that Christ died for all; therefore all have died.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17: So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away - look, what is new has come!

  • Ephesians 4:32: Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.

  • Ephesians 5:1-2: Therefore, be imitators of God as dearly loved children and live in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

  • Colossians 3:12-13: Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if someone happens to have a complaint against anyone else. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others.

  • Colossians 3:14-15: And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond. Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart (for you were in fact called as one body to this peace), and be thankful.

  • 1 John 4:9-11: By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God has sent his one and only Son into the world so that we may live through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, if God so loved us, then we also ought to love one another.

  • 1 John 4:19-21: We love because he loved us first. If anyone says "I love God" and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And the commandment we have from him is this: that the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian too.
