Description

The verses in this set have greatly helped my wife and I through the grieving process when our 23-year-old son, Joshua, died. May they help you also.

Verses

  • Psalm 31:9: Have mercy on me, for I am in distress! My eyes grow dim from suffering. I have lost my strength.

  • Psalm 31:14: But I trust in you, O LORD! I declare, "You are my God!"

  • Job 17:7: My eyes have grown dim with grief; my whole frame is but a shadow.

  • Isaiah 57:1-2: The godly perish, but no one cares. Honest people disappear, when no one minds that the godly disappear because of evil. Those who live uprightly enter a place of peace; they rest on their beds.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:13: Now we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest who have no hope.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:14: For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:54-55: Now when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the saying that is written will happen, "Death has been swallowed up in victory." "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"
