Verses

  • Proverbs 17:14: Starting a quarrel is like letting out water; stop it before strife breaks out!

  • Proverbs 26:17: Like one who grabs a wild dog by the ears, so is the person passing by who becomes furious over a quarrel not his own.

  • Proverbs 26:20: Where there is no wood, a fire goes out, and where there is no gossip, contention ceases.

  • 2 Timothy 2:14: Remind people of these things and solemnly charge them before the Lord not to wrangle over words. This is of no benefit; it just brings ruin on those who listen.

  • Titus 3:2: They must not slander anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people.

  • Titus 3:9: But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, quarrels, and fights about the law, because they are useless and empty.
