From the very beginning of the bible, God says he is our shield. Great verses to stand on and to put up protection with God Himself as your shield.

Genesis 15:1: After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: "Fear not, Abram! I am your shield and the one who will reward you in great abundance."

2 Samuel 22:31: The one true God acts in a faithful manner; the LORD's promise is reliable; he is a shield to all who take shelter in him.

Psalm 18:2: The LORD is my high ridge, my stronghold, my deliverer. My God is my rocky summit where I take shelter, my shield, the horn that saves me, and my refuge.

Psalm 91:4: He will shelter you with his wings; you will find safety under his wings. His faithfulness is like a shield or a protective wall.
