Description

With Valentine's day approaching, many people have "hearts" and "love" on their minds. What does God say about our heart?

Verses

  • Proverbs 4:23: Guard your heart with all vigilance, for from it are the sources of life.

  • Jeremiah 17:9: The human mind is more deceitful than anything else. It is incurably bad. Who can understand it?

  • Matthew 5:8: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

  • Psalm 51:10: Create for me a pure heart, O God! Renew a resolute spirit within me!

  • Luke 6:45: The good person out of the good treasury of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasury produces evil, for his mouth speaks from what fills his heart.

  • Romans 10:9: because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  • 1 Samuel 16:7: But the LORD said to Samuel, "Don't be impressed by his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. God does not view things the way men do. People look on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

  • Psalm 147:3: He heals the brokenhearted, and bandages their wounds.

  • Matthew 6:21: For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  • Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.
