Answer: The Scriptures principally teach, what man is to believe concerning God, [[ Genesis 1:1 || John 5:39 || John 20:31 || Romans 10:17 || 2 Timothy 3:15 ]]

and what duty God requires of man. [[ Deuteronomy 10:12-13 || Joshua 1:8 || Psalm 119:105 || Micah 6:8 || 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ]]

Verses

  • Genesis 1:1: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

  • John 5:39: You study the scriptures thoroughly because you think in them you possess eternal life, and it is these same scriptures that testify about me,

  • John 20:31: But these are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

  • Romans 10:17: Consequently faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the preached word of Christ.

  • 2 Timothy 3:15: and how from infancy you have known the holy writings, which are able to give you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

  • Deuteronomy 10:12-13: Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you except to revere him, to obey all his commandments, to love him, to serve him with all your mind and being, and to keep the Lord's commandments and statutes that I am giving you today for your own good?

  • Joshua 1:8: This law scroll must not leave your lips! You must memorize it day and night so you can carefully obey all that is written in it. Then you will prosper and be successful.

  • Psalm 119:105: Your word is a lamp to walk by, and a light to illumine my path.

  • Micah 6:8: He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the LORD really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17: Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.
