Description

In John chapters 14-16, Jesus used these words several times. Praying in the name of Jesus is found only in the Gospel of John.

Verses

  • John 14:13: And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

  • John 14:14: If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

  • John 15:16: You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

  • John 16:23: At that time you will ask me nothing. I tell you the solemn truth, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

  • John 16:24: Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive it, so that your joy may be complete.

  • John 16:26-27: At that time you will ask in my name, and I do not say that I will ask the Father on your behalf. For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.
