verse selections by Robin Sampson of Bible Journal Love

Verses

  • 2 Timothy 3:16: Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

  • Hebrews 4:12: For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.

  • 1 John 1:6-7: If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth. But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

  • Ephesians 5:15-16: Therefore be very careful how you live - not as unwise but as wise, taking advantage of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

You have gone back to needing milk, not solid food. For everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced in the message of righteousness, because he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil.

  • Psalm 1:2-3: Instead he finds pleasure in obeying the LORD's commands; he meditates on his commands day and night. He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts.

  • Psalm 19:7: The law of the LORD is perfect and preserves one's life. The rules set down by the LORD are reliable and impart wisdom to the inexperienced.
