Proverbs 10:18-19: The one who conceals hatred utters lies, and the one who spreads slander is certainly a fool. When words abound, transgression is inevitable, but the one who restrains his words is wise.
-
Proverbs 11:12-13: The one who denounces his neighbor lacks wisdom, but the one who has discernment keeps silent. The one who goes about slandering others reveals secrets, but the one who is trustworthy conceals a matter.

-
Proverbs 16:23-24: A wise person's heart makes his speech wise and it adds persuasiveness to his words. Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
-
Proverbs 17:9: The one who forgives an offense seeks love, but whoever repeats a matter separates close friends.
-
Proverbs 17:14: Starting a quarrel is like letting out water; stop it before strife breaks out!
-
Proverbs 17:27-28: The truly wise person restrains his words, and the one who stays calm is discerning. Even a fool who remains silent is considered wise, and the one who holds his tongue is deemed discerning.
-
Proverbs 18:2: A fool takes no pleasure in understanding but only in disclosing what is on his mind.
-
Proverbs 18:6-8: The lips of a fool enter into strife, and his mouth invites a flogging. The mouth of a fool is his ruin, and his lips are a snare for his life. The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down into the person's innermost being.
