amen. Beautiful verses.

Yes they are, Joosep. It is precious to think that we had no hope and were without God in the world, but now we are fellowcitizens and of the household of God. - And the first verses spell out how miserable we were, and then are followed with, "But God..." We're a mess, but He is so wonderful, so kind and merciful to us.

Actually, though, this came up because I needed some extra practice on this passage a while back, so I added 3:1 to the end (not to learn 3:1, but to make ch. 2 stay in my practice que) and now I'm trying to figure out how to drop it back off... might have it figured out.... 🤪

Thank you for sharing that; I was blessed and encouraged as I read it. As to editing passages later on by adding or deleting verses, I've also had difficulty with that in the past. Often, I just end up creating an entirely new passage. I guess if anyone has some good insights on how to deal with that, it would be nice to hear.

But thank you for sharing your thoughts about Ephesians 2 and may our Lord bless you with His presence in your life.

It seems to me like the key is whether the set is public or not. I have had no issues adjusting the verse numberings of passage sets that were not public, but the ones that are public appear to hold onto their configurations. This actually makes sense if you think about it. After all, who wants to start learning a passage set only to have the creator change it on you.

When I first started, I used to make public passage sets all the time. What I found, however, was that all those passage sets already had a passage set out there made by someone else. If one already exists, why not just use that one? You get no credit for the Sharer badge for making passage sets, and I'm not certain those qualify for the Trend Setter badge as well. For these reasons, I just make my passage sets private so I can adjust them at will as necessary. It also makes hitting the Learn button multiple times for practice less spammy to the rest of the users.

Thank you, joosep and onfire247, for your comments. Here is how I eliminated the extra verse. I edited the passage by redefining the passage as desired (in the above case, Eph. 2:1-22 (no 3:1)). Now because I had started 3:1, it was still "in the system" and still came up with ch. 2. I then set up an individual verse 3:1, saved it, tested on it, then went to verse progress, chose verse 3:1 and "stop learning this verse". It disappeared as both an individual verse and from the ch. 2 verse set.

Joosep, I also have created a second passage set when I haven't had success changing the first set to my satisfaction. So far, I had been afraid to "stop learning" the first set being unsure if it would remove both sets (not a problem for testing - just extra passages being stored and listed in the queue). But it appears that if I go to the first verse of the passages (Eph. 2:1) in verse progress, the verse comes up with options for each of the two passages, so I could "stop learning" one without losing the other.

Onfire, I also prefer now to set passages up as private. I usually start with section breaks for longer passages and then remove the section breaks so as to review the whole passage together.... Now - thank you! You taught me that I can review (for points - shameless, I know) as often as desired by choosing "learn" again and again. That makes all the above finagling (sp?) unnecessary. I'm excited to give it a try.

Again, thank you both for your frequent encouragement.

So... disregard all that about "stop learning" the verse I wanted to drop. The verse is removed from the passage set, but it still came up tonight for testing with the set. I'll just have to create a new passage and "stop learning" the old one... and hit Learn to review.

Thank you Jane, and Onfire, for all that helpful input :)

To rvfc2 you can also go to Verse Progress to stop learning a passage. Enter a verse from the passage and click on the box to the far right.

Thanks, Phinehas.
