Thank you! Yes, I'm finding the benefits go beyond what I expected! I wanted to have longer passages hidden in my heart and mind so that if I was without a Bible, for whatever reason, I could bring them to mind. However, I've found that memorising has forced me to look into the details of the passages that I would have otherwise missed, to confront the biases that I bring to the text that cause me to subconsciously reword sections and I find myself meditating on them at random moments as my brain is processing the memories. I love it and I don't know why it's not more normal in all Christian circles!

I'm happy for you Nako! The more you learn the more that will happen, sometimes in silly ways as well. For example, I find myself saying "it is to your advantage" all the time now simply because that is the phrase Jesus uses in John 16:7 to describe the sending of the Holy Spirit to his mourning disciples.
