Thanks, everyone! JDJDJD, I am being blessed, and what I most enjoy about this effort and process is that it leads to so much, study, thought, and reflection... which nurtures my relationship with Jesus. There are so many things you miss when you breeze through scripture or simply relay on what you remember from church and Sunday School. For example, in the famous, "which is the most important commandment" discussion, I totally could have told you that the answer is to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself (paraphrase). But both Jesus and the scribe who summarizes his answer both emphasize God's uniqueness and singular authority. Jesus says, "The most important is, 'Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One." And the scribe summarizes, "You are right, teacher. You have truly said that he is one and that there is no other besides him." I don't remember this from any other study, and yet it is clear in the passage. I don't know the scope of what this means, but I enjoy learning about it and meditating on it.
