PeterP started learning Psalm 118:1-29

I had just returned from a walk in a rather isolated area, and wanted to praise God for all of His creation which I had seen, and lo and behold, when I turned on my computer there was this Psalm! So I started learning it too.

This Psalm is rich in prophetic and eschatological meaning.
Mind you, I'm not advocating any specific theological or eschatological position here; I'm simply providing some cross references so that those of us who are students of the Bible, like the Bereans, can examine them, study the context, and allow God the Holy Spirit to lead us to greater understanding.
118:10 and 18, compare Luke 21:20, Zechariah 14:1-3
118:20, compare Isaiah 2:2-4
118:22-23, compare Matthew 21:42, Acts 4:11, Luke 20:17, and more
118:26, compare Matthew 23:39 and Luke 13:35

Thanks Joosep for the interesting cross-references. It is a psalm full of encouragement. We all benefit from the reminder that ‘his steadfast love endures forever’.
And I’ve been particularly struck with verse 8 ‘It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.’ How often do I put my trust in other people, or even in myself, rather than turning to the Lord first?

amen, I agree with you. Thank you for making that Psalm public, otherwise I might not have started learning it :)
