Didn't realise (or remember?) that you were going through John. Nice to have some company :) Loving it

I like this blind guy. Great personality! Fun watching him go from an anomymous beggar on the street to someone who is surprisingly and miraculously healed for no apparent reason to someone who starts to speak out about the man who healed him and becomes so confident that he answers back in no uncertain terms to the church leaders. And I love how Jesus seeks him out at the end when he is thrown out of the synagogue and introduces himself. We hear no more about the blind guy, but I bet his life was radically transformed. I picture him with a kind of Peter-like personality.

Yes, you're so right. The eyes of his understanding were opened wide. Quite interesting to compare the healing of this blind man and that of the blind man from Bethsaida in Mark 8. The blind man in John 9 is picked up by Jesus, the one in Mark 8 is brought to Him and Jesus is entreated to heal him. Then Jesus takes him out of the town and the healing procedure is similar to that in John 9. But the healing is gradual in Mark 8 and the man is commanded by Jesus not to return to that town. In that town was too much unbelief. In John 9 the healing is sudden and the belief is steadfast and instrumental for Jesus pronouncing a judgment on the unbelieving Pharisees.

Interesting! I feel like I only really know John now. After working on romans and maybe some of Paul's letters, I think I'll start another gospel. Will be interesting to read after learning John so well!

Yes, it is challenging, especially after memorizing Romans which is quite a handful but now I think you'll have a unique perspective on the gospels. Good for you, Robinshe!!! Way to go! :-)

Congratulations Robinshe! I only just noticed your Master level 3 badge. And when you've finished John, (or Romans, or whatever) start Luke, and when I've finished Luke (ha ha) I'll start John. I'm writing on John at the moment, and I'm getting to know the last few chapters quite well..

I been thinking the same things, Robinshe. I'm really enjoying getting to know Jesus better through his interactions with the various people he comes across. Maybe when you finish Romans and I finish John we can both learn Mark together?
