Heidelberg Catechism Question 45:

Q.
How does Christ's resurrection benefit us?
A.
First, by His resurrection He has overcome death, so that He could make us share in the righteousness which He had obtained for us by His death. Second, by His power we too are raised up to a new life. Third, Christ's resurrection is to us a sure pledge of our glorious resurrection.

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
1 Corinthians 15:20

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:1

Happy Resurrection Sunday! Isn’t it wonderful to know that our Savior isn’t buried?! For He is risen and alive! For this reason we have the hope of eternal life if we trust in Him for salvation!

The same thing happened to me a while back - I missed a day when I was a couple of months short of the 2-year badge. I was annoyed at the time but afterwards I found that I was enjoying learning scripture more without the pressure of having to add one new verse each day (and seeing the review queue getting longer and longer).

Oh no! Only 9 months away from getting the highest level at 3 years! That would be crushing indeed, but you're keeping up with the study so that's good!

FinalAsgard, sounds like you've got a great plan for moving forward and that's what counts the most. 👍🏽
If it's any consolation, a similar thing happened to me last weekend, I inadvertently missed a day and thereby ended the streak I had been on, however, the joy of learning Scripture is a reward in itself.

That is true. The benefit of memorizing scripture daily is not lost because I miss a day. I'm using this as a break to catch up. The last 2 weeks I was just adding a new verse everyone day to keep the streak alive but was still stuck with my main focus working on the previous chapter. So now, I'm catching up, and I anticipate starting to add new verses again next week, and then see if I can break my 88 day streak record. :D

Oh noo! I feel your pain! 🙈 So close to the 3 month badge. Don’t lose heart though. The real benefit of all that hard work hasn’t been lost.
