I thought I was close to the Lord but now in the midst of sickness and marital stuff I realize I was but being the best disciple. That is why I joined this group.

I have recently read a book by Merlin Carothers "Power in Praise." It opened my eyes to the power in praise but it is a battle to always praise God no matter what happens...no matter the circumstances. It definitely makes you take your eyes off yourself and trying to control everything and place your eyes on God and realize all things are willed through him and that he has the power. Still struggling with it...practice hopefully makes it a habit.
