Miss a day? If you mean what I think you mean ... I can't miss a day reading the Bible (or doing a website like this one). If I do, I get pretty grouchy :)
Hello graetzmi23! I can't comment as "Tallinn". I disabled the comment feature by mistake, and now I can't get it back. Anyway, I can indeed comment as Joosep. Yes, it's nice to be back, and thanks for the welcome. To answer your question, no, I didn't intentionally set out to get it but, yes, we are on holiday and ... I've spent a lot of time doing Bible verses .... may God continue to bless your Bible study and memorizing!
It's interesting to compare Revelation 22:5 and Isaiah 60:19:
Isaiah 60:19 (ESV): The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give you light; but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.
Revelation 22:5 (ESV): And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
yes, i agree with you. The main thing is to be obedient and let God's word sink down deep into our hearts, and then to do and to live according to what His Word says :) ... to let His word change us ...
Keep letting us know what fresh things you observe in Acts!
Maybe the commenting feature will get fixed and I'll be able to comment as "Tallinn", but until then I can comment as Joosep of course :)
Greetings from Estonia and may God bless your day!
Hello Robinshe! Thank you for your "welcome back". I came back and felt a bit overwhelmed by the many, many verses that were due, so I created a new account, "Tallinn". The thing is, I accidentally disabled the commenting feature, so I can see comments there but can't make my own comments using the Tallinn username :)
Things have been going just fine in the last year, and I thank God for that. I've been using Memverse and ScriptureTyper, but I plan to be back here and to use this site exclusively, for the foreseeable future.
I really thank God for His Word. I can't say enough how precious His word is to us and how wonderful it is to meditate on / deeply think about it / focus on it (I wouldn't call what I do real and true memorizing.)
As usual I've gone on long-windedly. Thank you for your warm welcome, it meant a lot.
thanks to JDJDJD and to AnnetteCN and to all of you. It's really encouraging :) I agree with you, AnnetteCN, memverse could benefit from users being able to more easily interact.
Hi Robinshe! Thanks to you too for the kind words and especially the offer of prayer support. I've enjoyed a lot talking to you. I've got to run out now and do an errand ... perhaps I will write more later. --Joosep
I'm open to using different translations. It's just that the NASB is really written on my mind, having spent so much time reading it and in some cases memorizing. I didn't really start memorizing in earnest until I joined memverse in December 2014. Then I joined this site in May 2015 and tried to use both for a while, but found it difficult to maintain both sites. So I had been using this one exclusively for the past several months ...
I haven't ever tried to find a church that exclusively used the NASB. I didn't consider that to be a priority. In finding a church, my priority is to find one that teaches God's Word without compromise and honors Jesus Christ as Lord and God.
I guess I just want to aim more for accuracy in my memorization and I'm just not enough of a genius to memorize something (for example, ESV) when a varying version of the same thing (NASB) is already in my mind, nearly memorized.
Once again, thanks for the kind words. God's blessings to you as you pursue your studies!
