Thank you PeterP! To be frank, I haven't actually memorized much since joining this site back in May, if we speak of precise word for word memorization. My goal is more to meditate on large portions of God's Word. And it has been a great blessing to me in that way. So, my numbers may be a bit misleading.
Context is so very important. When we look at a verse, we must ask ourselves, what is it's meaning in the context of that passage? that chapter? that book or letter, and in the Bible as a whole? or in the context of that event that was happening at that very moment in time, in history? It's nice to hear people speak of context :)
Hey I saw your post on the Leaderboard wall about memverse and this site. Did you get the email from Luke too? I might be joining you sometime soon...maybe?
Hi By Grace Alone and JDJDJD. Yes, I also got the e-mail from Luke. And the last thing he wrote in the Google group is that he's hopeful to have someone take it over. I still plan to use this site every day. I just mainly really like the passage review feature at Memverse. But this site too is excellent. Also, at Memverse, I can add verses in Estonian. Estonian is not my native language (English is), but it's my wife's native language and it's where we live. So it's nice to be able to be a student of that language and study God's word at the same time :) So ... I hope that helps ...
Hello PeterP! Do you plan to go through John in order? I have that plan in the back of my mind, and have added and worked on several chapters of John, but now I'm distracted with and working on something else ... anyway, the Gospel of John is a wonderful blessing. Have a good day.
Yes, Estonia is quite lovely. I'm sure all of us here join in praying that your exhibition will be a success and a blessing to people there where you live. It seems that scarlet robins are your "motif", if I may say it that way? How did that come to be, if I may ask. Have a nice day.
Hello Annette. How is your painting coming along? Here in Estonia we have a light snow falling, and a lot of snow from previous snowfalls on the ground ...
