The LORD is thy keeper...The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. (Psalm 121:5a,7)
...he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:5b-6 KJV)
These verses are precious. We may memorize them and we believe them, but I realize every so often that my life is often pretty tame (for which I am grateful) and that my faith in God as He is described in these and other verses is seldom tested. Joosep - looking at your comments from last week - Praise God that His word is truth and that He is faithful. I will add my prayers to yours. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). May you and yours be safe.
Arise, O LORD! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you! Put them in fear, O LORD! Let the nations know that they are but men! Selah --Psalm 9:19-20 (ESV)
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Psalm 91:14-16 (KJV)
Congratulations, joosep. Another milestone reached. Our Lord is so kind and faithful. I love that He works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).
I will extol Thee, my God, O king; and I will bless Thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. --Psalm 145:1-3
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:7-8
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
The Lord brought this to mind this morning while I was complaining to myself. I am so grateful for His kind way of correcting me and offering peace beyond understanding in place of anxiety.
