Description

Based on the "abiding mom" helpful set of contrasts between a "super" mum and one who abides and rests in God. Not just for mums - these verses are relevant to everyone!

Verses

  • John 15:5: "I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me - and I in him - bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing.

  • Psalm 46:10: He says, "Stop your striving and recognize that I am God! I will be exalted over the nations! I will be exalted over the earth!"

  • Proverbs 29:25: The fear of people becomes a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD will be set on high.

  • Isaiah 26:3: You keep completely safe the people who maintain their faith, for they trust in you.

  • Proverbs 22:6: Train a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

  • Colossians 3:2: Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth,

  • Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them.

  • Ephesians 4:32: Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.

  • Ephesians 5:8-10: for you were at one time darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light - for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth - trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

  • Galatians 5:22-25: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit.

  • 2 Corinthians 12:9-10: But he said to me, "My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

  • Deuteronomy 6:6-7: These words I am commanding you today must be kept in mind, and you must teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up.

  • 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up. It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful. It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
