Verses

  • Deuteronomy 14:29: Then the Levites (because they have no allotment or inheritance with you), the resident foreigners, the orphans, and the widows of your villages may come and eat their fill so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work you do.

  • Psalm 37:25: I was once young, now I am old. I have never seen a godly man abandoned, or his children forced to search for food.

  • Psalm 37:26: All day long he shows compassion and lends to others, and his children are blessed.

  • Psalm 112:9: He generously gives to the needy; his integrity endures. He will be vindicated and honored.

  • Proverbs 11:24: One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty.

  • Proverbs 11:25: A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied.

  • Proverbs 14:21: The one who despises his neighbor sins, but whoever is kind to the needy is blessed.

  • Proverbs 19:17: The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the LORD, and the LORD will repay him for his good deed.

  • Proverbs 28:27: The one who gives to the poor will not lack, but whoever shuts his eyes to them will receive many curses.

  • Ecclesiastes 11:1: Send your grain overseas, for after many days you will get a return.

  • Isaiah 58:7: I want you to share your food with the hungry and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people. When you see someone naked, clothe him! Don't turn your back on your own flesh and blood!

  • Isaiah 58:8: Then your light will shine like the sunrise; your restoration will quickly arrive; your godly behavior will go before you, and the LORD's splendor will be your rear guard.

  • Isaiah 58:10: You must actively help the hungry and feed the oppressed. Then your light will dispel the darkness, and your darkness will be transformed into noonday.

  • Mark 10:21: As Jesus looked at him, he felt love for him and said, "You lack one thing. Go, sell whatever you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

  • Luke 6:38: Give, and it will be given to you: A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be poured into your lap. For the measure you use will be the measure you receive."

  • Luke 14:13: But when you host an elaborate meal, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.

  • Luke 14:14: Then you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

  • Luke 14:21: So the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the master of the household was furious and said to his slave, 'Go out quickly to the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.'

  • 1 Corinthians 13:13: And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

  • 2 Corinthians 9:7: Each one of you should give just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver.

  • 1 Timothy 6:17: Command those who are rich in this world's goods not to be haughty or to set their hope on riches, which are uncertain, but on God who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment.

  • 1 Timothy 6:18: Tell them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous givers, sharing with others.
