Some of my favorite Bible verses about dancing.

Verses

  • Exodus 15:20: Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a hand-drum in her hand, and all the women went out after her with hand-drums and with dances.

  • Exodus 15:21: Miriam sang in response to them, "Sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea."

  • Judges 11:34: When Jephthah came home to Mizpah, there was his daughter hurrying out to meet him, dancing to the rhythm of tambourines. She was his only child; except for her he had no son or daughter.

  • Judges 21:21: and keep your eyes open. When you see the daughters of Shiloh coming out to dance in the celebration, jump out from the vineyards. Each one of you, catch yourself a wife from among the daughters of Shiloh and then go home to the land of Benjamin.

  • 1 Samuel 6:16: The five leaders of the Philistines watched what was happening and then returned to Ekron on the same day.

  • 1 Samuel 30:16: So he took David down, and they found them spread out over the land. They were eating and drinking and enjoying themselves because of all the loot they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from the land of Judah.

  • 1 Samuel 29:5: Isn't this David, of whom they sang as they danced, 'Saul has struck down his thousands, but David his tens of thousands'?"

  • 2 Samuel 6:16: As the ark of the LORD entered the City of David, Saul's daughter Michal looked out the window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she despised him.

  • 1 Chronicles 16:29: Ascribe to the LORD the splendor he deserves! Bring an offering and enter his presence! Worship the LORD in holy attire!

  • 1 Chronicles 16:30: Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is established, it cannot be moved.

  • Job 21:11: They allow their children to run like a flock; their little ones dance about.

  • Psalm 30:11: Then you turned my lament into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and covered me with joy.

  • Psalm 150:4: Praise him with the tambourine and with dancing! Praise him with stringed instruments and the flute!

  • Psalm 150:1: Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary! Praise him in the sky, which testifies to his strength!

  • Psalm 150:2: Praise him for his mighty acts! Praise him for his surpassing greatness!

  • Psalm 150:3: Praise him with the blast of the horn! Praise him with the lyre and the harp!

  • Psalm 150:5: Praise him with loud cymbals! Praise him with clanging cymbals!

  • Psalm 150:6: Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!
