Description

It goes without saying that you can hardly throw a stone in both the OT and NT without hitting someone getting healed by God. Healing was not only an integral part of God’s covenant with Israel, but it is likewise an integral part of the kingdom of God message - the same kingdom we live in today - which Jesus preached during his ministry. As such, the purpose of these volumes is to show that God is not only a God who healed, but that he is a God who wants to heal those who are willing to take hold of it by faith today (Mal 3:6, Acts 10:34-35).

This is part six of a multi-volume set of scriptures on healing in the Bible. If you find this set useful, please thank Luke Plant for providing us an incredible Bible memorization platform by donating to the costs involved with running this website (https://learnscripture.net/donate/).

Verses

  • Acts 4:29-30: And now, Lord, pay attention to their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your message with great courage, while you extend your hand to heal, and to bring about miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."

  • Acts 10:38: with respect to Jesus from Nazareth, that God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.

  • Romans 8:11: Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you.

  • 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.

  • 1 Corinthians 11:29-30: For the one who eats and drinks without careful regard for the body eats and drinks judgment against himself. That is why many of you are weak and sick, and quite a few are dead.

  • 1 Corinthians 12:7-10: To each person the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the benefit of all. For one person is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, and another the message of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another performance of miracles, to another prophecy, and to another discernment of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.

  • 2 Corinthians 4:7-10: But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that the extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. We are experiencing trouble on every side, but are not crushed; we are perplexed, but not driven to despair; we are persecuted, but not abandoned; we are knocked down, but not destroyed, always carrying around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our body.

  • Galatians 3:13-14: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree") in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.

  • Ephesians 1:20-23: This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms far above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And God put all things under Christ's feet, and he gave him to the church as head over all things. Now the church is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

  • Ephesians 6:2-3: "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment accompanied by a promise, namely, "that it may go well with you and that you will live a long time on the earth."

  • Colossians 1:13-14: He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

  • Hebrews 2:14-15: Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death (that is, the devil), and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.

  • Hebrews 10:21-23: and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water. And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

  • James 5:14-16: Is anyone among you ill? He should summon the elders of the church, and they should pray for him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick and the Lord will raise him up - and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.

  • 2 Peter 1:3: I can pray this because his divine power has bestowed on us everything necessary for life and godliness through the rich knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and excellence.

  • 1 Peter 2:24: He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.

  • 3 John 1:2: Dear friend, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.
