Description

It goes without saying that you can hardly throw a stone in both the OT and NT without hitting someone getting healed by God. Healing was not only an integral part of God’s covenant with Israel, but it is likewise an integral part of the kingdom of God message - the same kingdom we live in today - which Jesus preached during his ministry. As such, the purpose of these volumes is to show that God is not only a God who healed, but that he is a God who wants to heal those who are willing to take hold of it by faith today (Mal 3:6, Acts 10:34-35).

The Mass Healings are organized as such:

  1. On the Galilean Mountain (Matthew 15:29-31)
  2. On His First Galilean Trip (Matthew 4:23-24, Mark 3:9-10, Luke 5:15)
  3. On His Second Galilean Trip (Matthew 9:35, Luke 6:17-19)
  4. On His Third Galilean Trip (Matthew 14:14, Luke 9:11)
  5. On His Gennesaret Trip (Matthew 14:34-36, Mark 6:53-56)
  6. His Unspecified Healings (John 20:30, John 21:25)
  7. The Judean Multitudes (Matthew 19:1-2)
  8. The Night Meeting (Matthew 8:16, Mark 1:32-34, Luke 4:40)
  9. The Return from Judea (Matthew 12:15, Luke 7:21)
  10. The Temple Healings (Matthew 21:14)
  11. The Unnamed Women (Luke 8:2-3)

Verses

  • Matthew 15:29-31: When he left there, Jesus went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up a mountain, where he sat down. Then large crowds came to him bringing with them the lame, blind, crippled, mute, and many others. They laid them at his feet, and he healed them. As a result, the crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing, and they praised the God of Israel.

  • Matthew 4:23-24: Jesus went throughout all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of disease and sickness among the people. So a report about him spread throughout Syria. People brought to him all who suffered with various illnesses and afflictions, those who had seizures, paralytics, and those possessed by demons, and he healed them.

  • Matthew 9:35: Then Jesus went throughout all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and sickness.

  • Matthew 14:14: As he got out he saw the large crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

  • Mark 6:53-56: After they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and anchored there. As they got out of the boat, people immediately recognized Jesus. They ran through that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever he was rumored to be. And wherever he would go - into villages, towns, or countryside - they would place the sick in the marketplaces, and would ask him if they could just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.

  • John 20:30: Now Jesus performed many other miraculous signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not recorded in this book.

  • Matthew 19:1-2: Now when Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River. Large crowds followed him, and he healed them there.

  • Luke 4:40: As the sun was setting, all those who had any relatives sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus. He placed his hands on every one of them and healed them.

  • Luke 7:21: At that very time Jesus cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, and evil spirits, and granted sight to many who were blind.

  • Matthew 21:14: The blind and lame came to him in the temple courts, and he healed them.

  • Luke 8:2-3: and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and disabilities: Mary (called Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna the wife of Cuza (Herod's household manager), Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their own resources.
