  • Genesis 1:1: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

  • Genesis 3:1: Now the serpent was more shrewd than any of the wild animals that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Is it really true that God said, 'You must not eat from any tree of the orchard'?"

  • Genesis 3:2: The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit from the trees of the orchard;

  • Genesis 3:11: And the LORD God said, "Who told you that you were naked? Did you eat from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"

  • Genesis 3:12: The man said, "The woman whom you gave me, she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it."

  • Genesis 3:13: So the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" And the woman replied, "The serpent tricked me, and I ate."

  • Genesis 3:14: The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, cursed are you above all the wild beasts and all the living creatures of the field! On your belly you will crawl and dust you will eat all the days of your life.

  • Genesis 3:15: And I will put hostility between you and the woman and between your offspring and her offspring; her offspring will attack your head, and you will attack her offspring's heel."

  • Genesis 3:16: To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your labor pains; with pain you will give birth to children. You will want to control your husband, but he will dominate you."

  • Exodus 20:2: "I, the LORD, am your God, who brought you from the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery.

  • Exodus 20:7: "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain.

  • Exodus 20:10: but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant, or your cattle, or the resident foreigner who is in your gates.

  • Exodus 20:11: For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, and he rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.

  • Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, that you may live a long time in the land the LORD your God is giving to you.

  • Deuteronomy 16:19: You must not pervert justice or show favor. Do not take a bribe, for bribes blind the eyes of the wise and distort the words of the righteous.

  • Deuteronomy 16:20: You must pursue justice alone so that you may live and inherit the land the LORD your God is giving you.

  • Psalm 1:1: How blessed is the one who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand in the pathway with sinners, or sit in the assembly of scoffers!

  • Psalm 1:2: Instead he finds pleasure in obeying the LORD's commands; he meditates on his commands day and night.

  • Matthew 6:2: Thus whenever you do charitable giving, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in synagogues and on streets so that people will praise them. I tell you the truth, they have their reward.

  • Matthew 6:3: But when you do your giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

  • Matthew 6:4: so that your gift may be in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

  • Matthew 6:5: "Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, because they love to pray while standing in synagogues and on street corners so that people can see them. Truly I say to you, they have their reward.

  • Matthew 6:6: But whenever you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.

  • Matthew 6:7: When you pray, do not babble repetitiously like the Gentiles, because they think that by their many words they will be heard.

  • Matthew 6:31: So then, don't worry saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?'

  • Matthew 6:32: For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

  • Matthew 6:33: But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

  • Matthew 6:34: So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.

  • Matthew 25:31: "When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

  • Matthew 25:41: "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire that has been prepared for the devil and his angels!

  • Matthew 25:42: For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink.

  • Matthew 25:43: I was a stranger and you did not receive me as a guest, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.'

  • Acts 28:1: After we had safely reached shore, we learned that the island was called Malta.

  • Acts 28:2: The local inhabitants showed us extraordinary kindness, for they built a fire and welcomed us all because it had started to rain and was cold.

  • Acts 28:3: When Paul had gathered a bundle of brushwood and was putting it on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened itself on his hand.

  • Acts 28:4: When the local people saw the creature hanging from Paul's hand, they said to one another, "No doubt this man is a murderer! Although he has escaped from the sea, Justice herself has not allowed him to live!"

  • Acts 28:5: However, Paul shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no harm.

  • Acts 28:6: But they were expecting that he was going to swell up or suddenly drop dead. So after they had waited a long time and had seen nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.

  • Acts 28:7: Now in the region around that place were fields belonging to the chief official of the island, named Publius, who welcomed us and entertained us hospitably as guests for three days.

  • Acts 28:8: The father of Publius lay sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and after praying, placed his hands on him and healed him.

  • Acts 28:9: After this had happened, many of the people on the island who were sick also came and were healed.

  • Acts 28:10: They also bestowed many honors, and when we were preparing to sail, they gave us all the supplies we needed.

  • Acts 28:11: After three months we put out to sea in an Alexandrian ship that had wintered at the island and had the "Heavenly Twins" as its figurehead.

  • Acts 28:12: We put in at Syracuse and stayed there three days.

  • Acts 28:13: From there we cast off and arrived at Rhegium, and after one day a south wind sprang up and on the second day we came to Puteoli.

  • Acts 28:14: There we found some brothers and were invited to stay with them seven days. And in this way we came to Rome.

  • Acts 28:15: The brothers from there, when they heard about us, came as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. When he saw them, Paul thanked God and took courage.

  • Acts 28:16: When we entered Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him.

  • Acts 28:17: After three days Paul called the local Jewish leaders together. When they had assembled, he said to them, "Brothers, although I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, from Jerusalem I was handed over as a prisoner to the Romans.

  • Acts 28:18: When they had heard my case, they wanted to release me, because there was no basis for a death sentence against me.

  • Acts 28:19: But when the Jews objected, I was forced to appeal to Caesar - not that I had some charge to bring against my own people.

  • Acts 28:20: So for this reason I have asked to see you and speak with you, for I am bound with this chain because of the hope of Israel."

  • Acts 28:21: They replied, "We have received no letters from Judea about you, nor have any of the brothers come from there and reported or said anything bad about you.

  • Acts 28:22: But we would like to hear from you what you think, for regarding this sect we know that people everywhere speak against it."

  • Acts 28:23: They set a day to meet with him, and they came to him where he was staying in even greater numbers. From morning until evening he explained things to them, testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets.

  • Acts 28:24: Some were convinced by what he said, but others refused to believe.

  • Acts 28:25: So they began to leave, unable to agree among themselves, after Paul made one last statement: "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah

  • Acts 28:26: when he said, 'Go to this people and say, "You will keep on hearing, but will never understand, and you will keep on looking, but will never perceive.

  • Acts 28:27: For the heart of this people has become dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and they have closed their eyes, so that they would not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them."'

  • Romans 12:7: If it is service, he must serve; if it is teaching, he must teach;

  • Romans 12:8: if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness.

  • Romans 12:17: Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.

  • Romans 12:18: If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.

  • Romans 12:19: Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay," says the Lord.

  • Romans 12:20: Rather, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing this you will be heaping burning coals on his head.

  • Romans 12:21: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

  • Romans 13:11: And do this because we know the time, that it is already the hour for us to awake from sleep, for our salvation is now nearer than when we became believers.

  • Romans 13:12: The night has advanced toward dawn; the day is near. So then we must lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the weapons of light.

  • Romans 13:13: Let us live decently as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in discord and jealousy.

  • Romans 13:14: Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires.

  • Romans 15:1: But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:58: So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
