  • Acts 16:12: and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of that district of Macedonia, a Roman colony. We stayed in this city for some days.

  • Acts 16:13: On the Sabbath day we went outside the city gate to the side of the river, where we thought there would be a place of prayer, and we sat down and began to speak to the women who had assembled there.

  • Acts 16:14: A woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, a God-fearing woman, listened to us. The Lord opened her heart to respond to what Paul was saying.

  • Acts 16:15: After she and her household were baptized, she urged us, "If you consider me to be a believer in the Lord, come and stay in my house." And she persuaded us.

  • Acts 16:16: Now as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave girl met us who had a spirit that enabled her to foretell the future by supernatural means. She brought her owners a great profit by fortune-telling.

  • Acts 16:17: She followed behind Paul and us and kept crying out, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation."

  • Acts 16:18: She continued to do this for many days. But Paul became greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!" And it came out of her at once.

  • Acts 16:19: But when her owners saw their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the authorities.

  • Acts 16:20: When they had brought them before the magistrates, they said, "These men are throwing our city into confusion. They are Jews

  • Acts 16:21: and are advocating customs that are not lawful for us to accept or practice, since we are Romans."

  • Acts 16:22: The crowd joined the attack against them, and the magistrates tore the clothes off Paul and Silas and ordered them to be beaten with rods.

  • Acts 16:23: After they had beaten them severely, they threw them into prison and commanded the jailer to guard them securely.

  • Acts 16:24: Receiving such orders, he threw them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.

  • Acts 16:25: About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the rest of the prisoners were listening to them.

  • Acts 16:26: Suddenly a great earthquake occurred, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. Immediately all the doors flew open, and the bonds of all the prisoners came loose.

  • Acts 16:27: When the jailer woke up and saw the doors of the prison standing open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, because he assumed the prisoners had escaped.

  • Acts 16:28: But Paul called out loudly, "Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!"

  • Acts 16:29: Calling for lights, the jailer rushed in and fell down trembling at the feet of Paul and Silas.

  • Acts 16:30: Then he brought them outside and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"

  • Acts 16:31: They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household."

  • Acts 16:32: Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him, along with all those who were in his house.

  • Acts 16:33: At that hour of the night he took them and washed their wounds; then he and all his family were baptized right away.

  • Acts 16:34: The jailer brought them into his house and set food before them, and he rejoiced greatly that he had come to believe in God, together with his entire household.

  • Acts 16:35: At daybreak the magistrates sent their police officers, saying, "Release those men."

  • Acts 16:36: The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, "The magistrates have sent orders to release you. So come out now and go in peace."

  • Acts 16:37: But Paul said to the police officers, "They had us beaten in public without a proper trial - even though we are Roman citizens - and they threw us in prison. And now they want to send us away secretly? Absolutely not! They themselves must come and escort us out!"

  • Acts 16:38: The police officers reported these words to the magistrates. They were frightened when they heard Paul and Silas were Roman citizens

  • Acts 16:39: and came and apologized to them. After they brought them out, they asked them repeatedly to leave the city.

  • Acts 16:40: When they came out of the prison, they entered Lydia's house, and when they saw the brothers, they encouraged them and then departed.

  • Matthew 24:35: Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

  • Genesis 6:5: But the LORD saw that the wickedness of humankind had become great on the earth. Every inclination of the thoughts of their minds was only evil all the time.

  • Genesis 6:6: The LORD regretted that he had made humankind on the earth, and he was highly offended.

  • Genesis 6:7: So the LORD said, "I will wipe humankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth - everything from humankind to animals, including creatures that move on the ground and birds of the air, for I regret that I have made them."

  • Genesis 6:9: This is the account of Noah. Noah was a godly man; he was blameless among his contemporaries. He walked with God.

  • Genesis 6:18: but I will confirm my covenant with you. You will enter the ark - you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you.

  • Genesis 6:19: You must bring into the ark two of every kind of living creature from all flesh, male and female, to keep them alive with you.

  • Genesis 6:20: Of the birds after their kinds, and of the cattle after their kinds, and of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind will come to you so you can keep them alive.

  • Genesis 6:21: And you must take for yourself every kind of food that is eaten, and gather it together. It will be food for you and for them.

  • Genesis 6:22: And Noah did all that God commanded him - he did indeed.

  • Genesis 1:26: Then God said, "Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth."

  • Revelation 13:6: So the beast opened his mouth to blaspheme against God - to blaspheme both his name and his dwelling place, that is, those who dwell in heaven.

  • Revelation 13:7: The beast was permitted to go to war against the saints and conquer them. He was given ruling authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation,

  • Revelation 13:8: and all those who live on the earth will worship the beast, everyone whose name has not been written since the foundation of the world in the book of life belonging to the Lamb who was killed.

  • Revelation 13:9: If anyone has an ear, he had better listen!

  • Revelation 13:10: If anyone is meant for captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, then by the sword he must be killed. This requires steadfast endurance and faith from the saints.

  • Revelation 13:11: Then I saw another beast coming up from the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but was speaking like a dragon.

  • Revelation 13:12: He exercised all the ruling authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and those who inhabit it worship the first beast, the one whose lethal wound had been healed.

  • Revelation 13:13: He performed momentous signs, even making fire come down from heaven in front of people

  • Revelation 13:14: and, by the signs he was permitted to perform on behalf of the beast, he deceived those who live on the earth. He told those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who had been wounded by the sword, but still lived.

  • Revelation 13:15: The second beast was empowered to give life to the image of the first beast so that it could speak, and could cause all those who did not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

  • Revelation 13:16: He also caused everyone (small and great, rich and poor, free and slave) to obtain a mark on their right hand or on their forehead.

  • Revelation 13:17: Thus no one was allowed to buy or sell things unless he bore the mark of the beast - that is, his name or his number.

  • Revelation 13:18: This calls for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the beast's number, for it is man's number, and his number is 666.

  • 1 Corinthians 6:10: thieves, the greedy, drunkards, the verbally abusive, and swindlers will not inherit the kingdom of God.

  • 1 Corinthians 6:18: Flee sexual immorality! "Every sin a person commits is outside of the body" - but the immoral person sins against his own body.

  • 1 Corinthians 7:32: And I want you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord.
