How do you manage to do so many verses in a day? Are you using a mobile or a computer? Do you just do it at intervals all through the day?

I use a laptop computer. Sometimes I do it twice a day, early in the morning and before going to sleep. Sometimes, if I have time, I also do it at intervals during the day.

Tracey, my testimony is this. Up until a few years ago (I started with Memverse in December 2014) I (as a Christian) spent a lot of my free time surfing the internet, reading this and that, watching Hollywood films and TV shows. I'm not trying to prohibit those things to anyone by saying this. But for me those things became like a bottomless pit that sucked the life out of me, literally. Then I found Memverse (and a few months later this site) and began spending much more time meditating on God's Word. And God has helped me to be a different kind of person, as a result of that.

So, truthfully, I still spend time on the computer reading other things or watching "entertainment". But now I spend much more time thinking about God's Word and what it means to me, what He is saying to me and to all of us, through His word.

I'm also a relatively fast typist. Back in the late eighties, before the internet age when we still used typewriters (LOL) I tested at 65 wpm. That also helps me to do a lot of verses. I don't hunt and peck.

But my typing skills are irrevelant. Mainly, I'd say, Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. At a certain point in my life, I finally took those words seriously. We must always be careful to give Him all the glory. We are nothing without Him.

Also - just a little practical hint - you can go into "settings" and change it so that you only have to type the first letter of each word. I find that speeds things up for me without memorizing any less. :-)

Hey Joosep, your testimony is very encouraging.
Matt 4:4 is one of my favorite verses too.
And, yes, time spent memorizing God's Word is far better than worldly entertainment. 1 John 2:15 comes to mind.
The negative spiritual effect of such entertainment on us is subtle, but very significant, while quality time in God's Word is so valuable and God will bless you for it.
Psalm 1 shows the contrast also.

Thank you Robinshe and Saintman! Both of you made very good points.

Thank you all of you! Yes I've experienced the subtle effect of worldliness, but am obliged to spend a lot of time sitting in front of a telly keeping my Alzheimer's Dad company. Temptation is rife. I'll try the first letter method. And yes, I am also a 65wpm typist from the 80s, hence I thought you might be using a laptop, but I have to use a mobile. Anyway, you have all encouraged me with your witness and works. Thanks again.

Back in the 80's I tried hard to lift my WPM above 65, but could never manage it :) Thanks for sharing Tracy, it's good to talk to fellow believers.

Yes it is. Proverbs 13.20.
