An achievement that shows your dedication to the word. Grats!

Well Done. Many more to follow I’m sure. 👍

Thanks to each of you. Can any of you tell me if these "mastered" verses ever come up for review again?

JDJDJD 2020-10-06 23:11

I think there’s a setting somewhere where you can choose. I’ve chosen not too but you can choose to review them after 12 months.

Thanks, JDJDJD! I'll look for it. 😊

I also remember that setting which JDJDJD spoke of. I believe it's on the bottom right of the screen when you have reviewed the verse. Normally, when you finish typing the verse in, there are three buttons saying "Practice", "OK" and "See Sooner". But when you've fully learnt a verse, these buttons say something like "Fully Learnt" and "Review In 12 Months".

This is my (somewhat dim) recollection of how things were a couple of years ago. I used to have some fully learnt verses, but then at some point I reset everything, and so now I'm engaged in the slow climb back up to "fully learnt" again. I hope that helps :) And I'm also not 100 percent sure that perhaps something has been changed in the system since that time a couple of years ago ...

Thanks, Joosep! I had looked around and couldn't find the option, but it would make sense that it would be available when the verse is "finished." I was so excited to have "fully learnt" my first verse (which was unexpected) that I don't remember what the options were. I'll look more carefully next time. I could see resetting and relearning some of the passages some time in the future. As an old friend of mine used to say, "Any more, my forgetter is the part of me that works the best." ;-) This app is helpful for reviewing previously learned passages.

You're welcome! I can understand how you felt when you had mastered your first verse :) I'm not recommending to anyone that they reset their verses, but also I would not speak against the idea ... it was just something I felt was right for me at the time :) But this time I plan to leave fully learnt verses as fully learnt, and to begin memorizing some other parts of the Bible.

Yes, when a verse is fully learned, you have the option ‘OK’ or ‘see sooner’ which will bring it back for review after 12 months. But if you don’t do it at the time, I don’t know how to go back to review a previously completed verse, apart from resetting it as Joosep says.

joosep 2020-10-07 09:42

Thank you PeterP. That specific information is good to have.

rvfc2 2020-10-08 04:33

Yes, thank you PeterP. Hopefully, I'll finish another verse one of these days and perhaps choose to keep reviewing it. My experience over the years has been that if I don't review fairly frequently the verses won't "stick." Thanks to you and Joosep for taking the time to advise.

rvfc2 2020-10-10 05:03

Thanks, again, JDJDJD and Joosep and PeterP. I just finished a second verse and there it was - just as you said - the option to review again in 12 months. 😊

joosep 2020-10-10 05:58

awesome. Thanks for that report rvfc2. My highest verse is I think at 98% and there are others in the 90s, so I'm hoping to add another "fully learnt" verse sometime soon LOL
