What I love about the book of John is that he takes time with his descriptions of peoples encounters with Jesus. I am up to Chapter 17 in my learning. It is a great blessing

Thank you for you comments! I know not everyone draws, but maybe just choosing a key verse to write down is helpful. Some of the chapters in my verse set have 2 or 3 verses because I drew more verses the next time around, but my original set of drawings gave me a good outline in my mind to find things quickly in the Bible. I have done the same with several books now... I uploaded verse sets for my completed books here as well. I went ahead and uploaded what I have in Psalms too though it is not complete, because that is a BIG work in progress and I want to start memorizing them faster than I am drawing. My goal is to create "A Walk though..." every book of the Bible through my art. When my pastor preaches, I can easily post pictures of his key verses in our church group chat more often than not because I have drawn over 400 verses at this point. What started out as something I did for myself in my quiet time to comfort my own heart, has morphed into a ministry because people tell me the drawings help them process the verses better. That is a blessing... and something God usually does... Here... try this thing... ok... now share it!

Thank you for sharing how you choose a verse and represent it visually. That sounds very powerful and satisfying (although I myself am not a visual learner). And I checked out your ‘walk through John’ verses, and it is surprising how well you’ve captured the essence of the book in just one or two verses from each chapter. God bless you as you continue to spend time with him.

treeswallow... Everyone has their own way of connecting with God. If you aren't an artist (though God would make fun of your sketches) perhaps making melodies or writing poetry is your thing... Whatever it is, enjoy your fellowship with God. For years I tried to wake up early and study Scripture like some pastors said they did. I didn't enjoy my time. Not a morning person. Now I spend time every evening with God as my last thoughts before sleep and I check-in in prayer all throughout the day. MUCH BETTER. God's children have unique relationships with him.

That's awesome Tina! The drawing strategy seems like a great help in memorizing John. I would do the same, if I could draw :) I started on the first chapter of John a few weeks ago and am really enjoying it.
