Hi, I´m so sorry to hear the difficult time your family is going through. It must be heartbreaking to see people so close to you going through that kind of pain, with no easy end in sight. Praying for your family and thankful for a God who promises us that everything will all end well for those who love him, and who gives comfort and peace and strength to those who call to him.

Asking prayer for a serious family issue - marriage problems - one spouse wants to try to put God first and accept the truth that there has been failures and maintain the marriage - the other spouse has turned from God to the world and is determined to end the marriage - God can turn anyone around but He also allows free choice which can bring us very sad consequences as we know. We are praising the Lord for the one who has submitted to God and we pray that God will help through all the present pain and difficulties.

Interesting going through Stephen´s summary of the Old Testament in Acts 7. It occurs to me that Moses was by no means an obvious leader for the Israelites - although he was an Israelite himself, he grew up in the palace while the Israelites were slaves. Not exactly "one of them", or the Israelites´ likely first pick for a leader to represent them.

He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

Actually I think it's a wonderful idea for our virtual community to have communion together especially at this time when we are about to celebrate our Lord's Ressurection. To be of one accord no matter the time or space zone. God is outside them and all it counts is that we are united in Spirit. Only some details to be cleared first.☺ I would definitely love that!😜

Acts 2:42 - I would say the people here are doing a reasonable job of devoting ourselves to the apostles´ teachings, to fellowship, and to prayer. Maybe that´s why this website is such a good place to be! (Tricky to break bread together in a virtual community, but I think God is flexible enough to deal with that!) May the Lord our God be with you and bless each one of you today, wherever you are :-)

Lovely verse Robinshe. Isn't it funny how verses pop out at you when you learn them even when you'd read them many times.

Acts 2:28. Not a well known verse, but I like it. This is what Jesus has given us. :-) And that Peter chooses this verse, to speak about joy at a time not terribly long after the death of Jesus, is a powerful testimony to his first-hand knowledge of the resurrection and of the coming of the Holy Spirit.

So the brothers of Jesus did in the end come to believe in him! (Acts 1:14). Earlier in his life they didn´t (John 7:5). Or were they still unbelievers after his death, just together with the apostles and their mother? Were they among those who came to faith when Peter made his famous speech in Acts 2? Not entirely clear. But I like the hope that is given by them being mentioned in this way in Acts.

Just finished reading "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus". A good read for anyone wanting to know a little more about what it´s like to grow up Muslim and how Islam is different from Christianity. And inspiring to hear the author´s story of how he came to be a Christian.

So sorry about that! I agree with Robinshe in prayer. Pray also that in this difficult time you rejoice in the Lord that your strength will be increased so that your joy will be full.

Ouch, that´s really tough. Always hard not to take it personally regardless of the situation. If it´s any encouragement, my brother was laid off last year and after 6 months is now at a new job that he likes, despite a tough job market, and he had half a year with much more time to be with his family. Will pray that God gives you comfort, peace and guidance as you figure out alternative options. Take care and stay with us here!

Hey guys, a bit down if you could keep me in your prayers also, I just got notice of losing my job today, really down and worried. I know God will work it out but still hard to swallow.

That doesn't really work for me. It is just confusing trying to remember the first letter...

Must be how my mind works. I can often remember the first letter without knowing the word that comes after it.

It really helps my brothers. I don't use it cuz it makes my fingers confused but that button is VERY useful for my younger brothers when they want to learn verses.

Definitely NOT cheating. 😌I'm trying to learn verses, not brush up on my typing skills 😉

To those of you who have joined recently, here´s a little hint that makes typing verses go faster: if you want you can click on your profile, and under "preferences" you can choose to just type the first letter of each word, rather than the whole word. Really speeds things up :-)
