why did they take off the leader board?

I agree with your comments too Robinshe. It's a fantastic site but I'm missing the leaderboards already. It was not my only motivation but it is a lovely thing to see others regularly learning alongside you. Hope you don't mind me joining here.

I just started out as a New Years Resolution, and I found the global leaderboard motivational in terms of providing both a challenge and a gauge. I agree with Luke's reasons to remove them, but it was nice to break into the top 100 before it went away! Now on to the millionaires club...!

Agree, bring back the leaderboard!

This is not meant in any way as a protest to the recent change about leaderboards. All respect and thanks to the "one man team" who manages this great site and works hard to make it as good as possible. As far as I can see it is the best app/website for learning scripture. But I also think it had a really good and unique balance of "external" and "intrinsic" motivation, so this group is for all of those of you who are motivated both by a combination of internal reasons and a little competition :-) Thanks Luke for a great site.
