I totally agree with you, FinalAsgard!

FinalAsgard 2019-04-03 16:49

It's amazing how much James actually says, and how much the Word of God says when you slow down and meditate on a single verse at a time as you're trying to memorize it. Working on James 1:19-21 right now and dang... RAMPANT wickedness? Really? Wow... Why would such a loving God want to save us? But I'm glad He does. With His Word he saves our souls. Such greatness in this book.

AZIL2 2019-03-29 19:21

FinalAsgard, that's awesome!

AZIL2 2019-03-29 19:18

I learn about 4 new verses every week or so.

joosep 2019-03-29 17:15

I've done through James 1:11. I add a verse from James maybe every two days.

FinalAsgard 2019-03-29 16:57

That's awesome! I'm on verse 17 of James 1 today.

AZIL2 2019-03-29 16:15

5 more chapters to go! :D

AZIL2 2019-03-29 16:13

I finally learned the first chapter of James!!

AZIL2 2019-03-28 01:23

FinalAsgard, Oh that's perfectly fine. Good for you for learning a chapter at a time! I'm just learning it 4 verses at a time! :D

FinalAsgard 2019-03-28 01:19

That's awesome. But I'd think I'd like to tackle this one chapter at a time. :D

AZIL2 2019-03-27 22:31

Hi there. If any of you are interested in learning the book of James, I've created a verse set that I'm currently using, and it's been really helpful, and makes learning easy. Just a FYI. :)

AZIL2 2019-03-27 17:28

I just finished learning 4 new verses in James. I'm loving memorizing James soo much!

joosep 2019-03-27 05:11

It's great that people here are commenting, it adds a feeling of fellowship :)

I'm working on James also, plus on some other parts of the Bible.

AZIL2 2019-03-27 01:52

Thank you! Yes, I agree, James is an amazing book!!

FinalAsgard 2019-03-26 18:34

That's awesome! Welcome! I'm being reminded of how awesome this book is again. :) I'm only on 1:1-1:8 right now.

AZIL2 2019-03-26 17:21

Hey! Glad to become a part of this group. I'm learning the book of James!

AZIL2 2019-03-26 17:15

FinalAsgard. I'm learning the book of James too! I've learned 1:1-24 so far. Good luck!

FinalAsgard 2019-03-26 13:06

We started! My son (MalikaiZ) and I decided to start with the book of James. :)Going to try to get Chapter 1 done this week.

FinalAsgard 2019-03-23 02:59

@joosep Not entirely sure yet. When I was in high school I memorized James, but that was many years ago. May do that again... Or the Epistles of John. Or Romans... Probably one of those. :D

joosep 2019-03-23 00:36

To FinalAsgard, which NT books do you have in mind to memorize? I know that it's hard to choose, because once you start this website is really addictive :)

NewTestamentMemorizer 2019-03-22 15:31

That's a great goal, FinalAsgard, and exactly what this group is for! We're looking forward to your progress! :)

joosep 2019-03-22 04:13

welcome to the group, FinalAsgard!

FinalAsgard 2019-03-22 03:58

Hey everyone, glad to be in this group. I just started on this site and am getting used to things but I completely plan on memorizing a few books of the new testament. Hopefully this year. :D

joosep 2019-03-21 05:44

Wow that's a great testimony. Thank you for sharing it.

NewTestamentMemorizer 2019-03-21 02:12

Alright everybody, thank you so much for your prayers! Yesterday, I apparently just strolled right through the book of Titus without stopping, just finished starting half of Philemon, and then a few minutes ago looked at my memorization calendar and thought, what on earth?! How did I catch up so fast? It seems I have learned to be on this website for hours (although not in a row) and am reviewing Titus and getting more familiar with it...it's so amazing how much God has blessed me! There's certainly only one bad thing I can think of about LearnScripture- it's very highly addictive! I'm beginning to wonder how I'm going to be able to memorize verses on the plane when I go to Hawaii in May!
Feeling better, too! :D

joosep 2019-03-18 04:17

Good morning, New Testament Memorizer! God is faithful. I pray that you will pass through your trial quickly and become stronger in Him as a result. Keep up the steady work!

NewTestamentMemorizer 2019-03-17 22:11

Hello members of New Testament Group, teflover and joosep, and anyone else. I must admit I have recently been going through a tough time and trying to resist the devil, with all the work I have to do for school (I'm in eighth grade) and it's overwhelming, not to mention discouraging! :( I have gotten behind on my memorization because of that, and I am only on 2nd Timothy 4, when I should be almost done with Titus....therefore I am back to catch up. Every hour I get tested on a verse I will learn at least one more, depending on how long the verses are, and eventually I will be caught up again :)
Lately instead I have been slowly memorizing more encouraging Psalms, and will now get back into my New Testament Plan. Even though the trials and tribulations are not quite over, I will strive to resist them, and soon I will hopefully be able to enjoy memorization again, without worrying about it taking up so much of my precious time! This website has been such a blessing to me and I thank the Lord for it. May God bless all of you in your memorization! :)

joosep 2019-02-20 00:46

Well, now I'm using this site for everything, both Old and New Testament. I like Scripture Typer, but I prefer the interface here -- I mean the look of the webpage. It's "cleaner", more of a focus only on God's Word. Scripture Typer's interface to me is cluttered and it's distracting. So now I'm here :)

joosep 2019-01-19 09:29

Thanks for sharing that, it's encouraging to me. In the Old Testament I'm working on Job and Malachi (chapter 1 for both). In the New I'm up to Matthew 20. Take care and talk to you later!

NewTestamentMemorizer 2019-01-19 04:25

That is such a great idea! I am actually following a plan from thebible.net to memorize the New Testament in 5 years, and I'm doing my core memorization on here. Once I eventually reach my goal I'll do the Old Testament as well. I'm already memorizing a bunch of familiar Psalms as well, and plan to eventually memorize the whole book. My favorite so far is Psalm 19 because a lot of it rhymes, and it sounds like spiritual poetry!

joosep 2018-12-30 06:57

I've also made a goal for myself to go through the whole New Testament, but I'm using a different website for that, called Scripture Typer. I'm using this website for the Old Testament :) Anyway, everyone has their own way of studying the Bible, and as long as it's sincere and as long as we take it seriously and listen to what God is teaching us, then it's all good :) But I just wanted to say I'm really enjoying going through the New Testament step by slow step. I'm up to Matthew 17 at this point. If I stick to my goal, it will take about five years I think ...

NewTestamentMemorizer 2018-10-18 22:00

Hello joosep! Sorry I responded a month late, I have just started working again after my long break. I have finished learning Colossians and am in the middle of Philippians. It's a thrill of a book! My brother is also learning to keep up :)

joosep 2018-09-10 03:30

How are things going with you and your brother, NewTestamentMemorizer? What parts of the Bible are you workin on these days :) ?

NewTestamentMemorizer 2018-06-27 20:42

May God bless any Bible memorization on this site!

NewTestamentMemorizer 2018-06-27 20:41

teflover and I are going on a long camping trip to see family, and we may appear inactive on LearnScripture due to internet connection. During the trip I will reduce the learning to 1 verse a day, if I can do it, but we should be back to normal schedule by the end of July :)

NewTestamentMemorizer 2018-05-30 17:44

It doesn't really matter what the rate anyone is going, as long as the goal is eventually made.

PeterP 2018-05-30 06:43

May God bless both you and your brother in this ambition. I hope this community can be a source of encouragement to you along the way. My own rate of learning is far slower than yours, but I know that all time spent in the Scripture is profitable for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Tim 3:16-17)

JDJDJD 2018-05-30 03:21

That’s a great goal to have. Just keep going. I’m sure you’ll be blessed on your journey.

joosep 2018-05-30 02:09

Keep at it! Consistency, consistency, consistency :)

NewTestamentMemorizer 2018-05-29 18:45

Hello everyone! I'm starting and creating every book in the New Testament and Psalms and Proverbs to set me up for learning the entire New Testament by the time I'm in college. My plans tell me to have the whole book of Colossians memorized by the end of next month (June). And then I will probably spend the next week trying to keep it in my head before I start Philippians. My brother (teflover) is trying to do this method too, but he might need some encouragement!
