Hi Shelley and welcome to LearnScripture! This is a great place to be :-) If you´d like some company as you study, you´re welcome to come and join us on the "Leaderboard Group for Everyone" board.
Ha! I was right :-) I decided that either Tallinn was a friend of yours to whom you had recommended the site (and maybe you reviewed a few verses under "joosep" while you showed Tallinn how it works...) or else Tallinn was actually you ready for a fresh start here! Glad to have you back :-) I think I know what you mean about meditating rather than memorising - maybe I just have a bad long-term memory but it takes me *forever* to finish a verse, even ones I´ve reviewed dozens (hundreds?) of times. But in learning 3 verses I day I am continually finding small jewels that I did´t know were there, new discoveries, new connections, new understanding. And it doesn´t really matter if I ever know them word-perfect or not. Right now I´m working my way slowly through Acts, I´m up to Chapter 9, and really enjoying seeing everything that happened as a result of Christ´s resurrection.
Joosep! Good to see you're not able to stay away completely! How is your Bible learning going? You're welcome to come back here anytime, hope all is well with you.
Interesting. Just reading Acts 9 now when Paul is on his way to Damascus. Didn´t realise that he retells how he experienced that event later in Acts 26.
Hi, I´m so sorry to hear the difficult time your family is going through. It must be heartbreaking to see people so close to you going through that kind of pain, with no easy end in sight. Praying for your family and thankful for a God who promises us that everything will all end well for those who love him, and who gives comfort and peace and strength to those who call to him.
Interesting going through Stephen´s summary of the Old Testament in Acts 7. It occurs to me that Moses was by no means an obvious leader for the Israelites - although he was an Israelite himself, he grew up in the palace while the Israelites were slaves. Not exactly "one of them", or the Israelites´ likely first pick for a leader to represent them.
Good job! Hope you´re enjoying LearnScripture! If you´d like some company as you study, feel free to come and join us on the "Leaderboard for Everyone" board - there are a bunch of us there and it´s a good place to encourage one another.
Tough to work 2 part time jobs as well as actively job hunt, hard to imagine. Glad that you at least have something to pay the bills with, and good to hear from you again. Will keep you in my prayers...
