A set of 5 verses that remind us to avoid ungodly speech, and encourage us to speak with grace and wisdom at all times.

Verses

  • Psalm 141:3: O LORD, place a guard on my mouth! Protect the opening of my lips!

  • Proverbs 12:18: Speaking recklessly is like the thrusts of a sword, but the words of the wise bring healing.

  • Proverbs 26:20: Where there is no wood, a fire goes out, and where there is no gossip, contention ceases.

  • Ephesians 4:29: You must let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but only what is beneficial for the building up of the one in need, that it may give grace to those who hear.

  • Titus 3:2: They must not slander anyone, but be peaceable, gentle, showing complete courtesy to all people.
