(I put the last verse of Isaiah 65 with the first two verses of chapter 66 in one continuous quotation)
The wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox; and dust will be the serpent’s food. They will do no evil or harm in all My holy mountain, says the LORD. Thus says the LORD, Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,” declares the LORD. But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
A Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob, declares the LORD.
As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says the LORD: My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring, says the LORD, from now and forever.
Isaiah 45:19 (NET) I have not spoken in secret, in some hidden place. I did not tell Jacob’s descendants, ‘Seek me in vain!’ I am the Lord, the one who speaks honestly, who makes reliable announcements.
I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images. Behold, the former things have come to pass, Now I declare new things; Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you.” Sing to the LORD a new song, Sing His praise from the end of the earth! You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it. You islands, and those who dwell on them.
Yes, 236 seems a lot to me Onfire, but I totally understand how it could feel as if it ought to be more. I guess I was thinking along the lines of what Moviegoer said, how short verses especially can be pushed far back if they are not remembered correctly. I had that experience many times too. It actually has always seemed a bit problematic to me, because then there's a passage which I mostly know very very well, but yet it keeps coming up more often than it should for review due to a verse or two or three pushed far back in its progress percentage. Then I have a choice, I can review the whole passage, or only the three or four, which always feels as if I'm doing it without much thought (hard for me to explain).
For that reason I've recently tended more towards shorter passages of 10-15 verses or so, rather than whole chapters. But to each their own :)
I also had a version difficulty roughly similar to your own, Onfire. When I started here in 2015, I used the ESV. But my background and memorization had always been with the NASB. So I used the ESV for quite a while, but then I think sometime in late 2018 the NASB was made available here. So that was one reason why I then reset everything and started all over with the NASB :) Looking back I don't regret that now, it simply gave me extra reinforcement with all those special verses.
Wishing you all blessings through and in God's Word, Joosep
Onfire, I wish to congratulate you on that accomplishment re: the Gospel of John! Your persistence over a period of 18 months is a role model for us all. I'm sure the fully learnt will be pouring in as well, beyond the 236 you have today. Speaking of that, 236 in 18 months also seems to me to be a noteworthy achievement.
You too Moviegoer, I really admire your persistence and what you are doing and enjoy watching it from afar!
Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
I understand what you mean, wordlearner. I just want to emphasize, God is good, and He loves us, and He knows very well what is best for us. He always has our best in mind. We don't always know what is best for us.
thank you to all. God is so good. Many have been the times I've regretted having a casual or disdainful attitude towards Him or to His principles, as borne out by some action I've taken or not taken. But He faithfully and steadily conforms us to the image of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. I pray that I and all of us will humbly submit to that process every day.
thanks. God is good. My prayer is that I'll remember and live out these verses all the rest of my days on this earth until He comes. If I reach 1000 and yet don't or won't live them, it's meaningless.

What you have accomplished on this site is a testament to your love and dedication to God's Word. Every time you knock out achievements like this you show us that we, too, can do it if we don't give up. Thanks for your continued encouragement on this site through both your comments and your milestones, and I look forward to celebrating more to come!

Congratulations, joosep. Another milestone reached. Our Lord is so kind and faithful. I love that He works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).
16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” 17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. --Revelation 22:16-17
COMPARE:
Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost. --Isaiah 55:1
COMPARE:
13 Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. --John 4:13-14
Yes, coming to the end of the NT. I've got a daily plan worked out on a spreadsheet -- on other days I work on other parts of the Bible, the OT prophets, Law and History, Wisdom Literature. (I don't work on those other parts of the Bible using my identity here as "joosep").
It will take years and years to complete this project .... well no matter ... I want to stay firmly in His Word until the moment He comes.
Maybe I should explain what joosep means. First of all, I live in Estonia, and "Joosep" is Estonian for Joseph. I like both Bible characters named Joseph very much :) And so that's why I chose that username when I started on this site.
