Thank you for sharing that, Wv. I also do something similar. Saying it out loud (or singing it out loud, as janet23 shared) is the key. Repeating also is important, because we easily forget (Psalm 103:14). There's something very special and powerful to declaring God's Word. Declaring it and believing it. I don't mean demanding -- because we must remain humble. I mean declaring His truth for all creation to hear :) We must remember that it is His Word, not ours. But as we repeat it and declare it, it becomes internalized.
God is good :) We need His Word (Matthew 4:4). Not just one or two words but every word. We also need fellowship. Those two along with worship and service are like the four essential disciplines of being a Christian. We do those things because we love Him, and we love Him because He first loved us :) And as we do them, we grow in Him.
Yes, it's important to go through all of Romans, step by step (especially 1-8, but the rest of the chapters are important too). It takes a lot of time, but is well worth the effort.
To JDJDJD and PeterP: it seems to me -- if I understand correctly what you want to accomplish -- that you can simply click through the passage in question and reset the progress of some of them.
1-go to the Verse Progress screen. 2-find the passage in question by entering into the search box one of the verses from the passage. 3-click on the box to the right of the stars for the appropriate verse 4-you'll see appear two options. "Practise ..." or "Stop learning....". Click on Practise. If it's not fully learnt, and is due, it will say "Review" or "Stop Learning". 5-Then click through the passage. To the right of the percentage symbol for each verse is a box with three lines. Click on it. Choose "Reset Progress" for each verse which you want to reset to zero. You can also skip verses using the same set of options. You can pin that little options screen to make it more convenient for you. 6-When you're done, let's say if we are talking about John 1, you might have a passage which will be presented in your review queue as 20 verses for review, but with the rest still as fully learnt. 7-You can follow the same method to reset individual verses fully learnt back to zero, if desired.
One last comment for JDJDJD: if you simply choose to "stop learning" your test scores will be saved. That means you can resume them in the future and you will still be at 43% or wherever it is. To get everything back to zero, you have to, I believe, reset each verse individually as you review them. Those which you reset go back to zero. In my own case, I simply started learning in a new version, as described above.
