I echo the last three comments .... I continue to be amazed at how much I notice that I had never noticed before, just because I'm going through everything slowly using this website.
I guess my numbers will slow down somewhat .... it seems I'm catching up on all the verses I've added ....well, we will see :) also I'm doing a lot more listening to Bible verses as I do the dishes, take a walk or ride the bus, etc. (inspired by Graetzmi). I'm trying to listen to the same verses that are in my "learn" queue ... because when those friendly boxes disappear, it gets a lot harder.
I love the gospel of John. Yes, thanks for that little story. We have a quiet peaceful winter's evening (well, almost winter) here in Estonia. Hope you have the same!
thanks! I know that a while ago I said I was adding 2 verses a day ... but lately I've been adding 5 ... hard to resist .... I guess I deserved that "addict" badge :)
sounds good. I started with Romans 12 and Romans 14 and then decided to start from the beginning, and since then I've done Romans 1-3. But I haven't started added verses from Romans 4 yet, as my attention for now has shifted elsewhere, to some other books / letters .... May God bless His word in you and through you to others.

welcome to the group! Do you have any particular plans with respect to Romans, such as to learn all of it, or perhaps for now only the first chapter? Just curious, as it's interesting to hear how other brothers and sisters are learning the Word of God.
I was so busy, that I didn't notice your remark "to actively make room for quiet". I agree. We have to fight for times of rest (paraphrasing here the thought in Hebrews). It's very important to make a priority of being in God's rest, because this is when I believe we can best hear His voice speaking to us. And we need so much to hear him speaking to us. On the other hand, it can be also so easy to get swept into the current of being busy and endless activities .... that's why we must strive to enter His rest.
Thanks for taking the time to look it up .... . Nice talking to you, and have a nice day / evening, whatever it is for you :) As to the insight, it was a pastor I had many years ago, who shared that with us (our church at that time).
Yes Daylyte you make an important point. It's so important to understand any verse in the context of the passage, of the chapter, of the whole book and of the whole Bible. Of course that sort of thing takes time and a whole lot of study :) and that's what we are doing here. I agree with what you've said. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. There's a verse that I dimly remember, but now I'm not sure which Psalm it is in: He made his deeds known to the children of Israel, but his ways to Moses. We want to be like Moses, and know more than only his great acts, but rather to know HIM and to know His ways. :)
Yes I understand what you mean, and others have mentioned that too. You join the site, thinking, well I'll memorize 10 or 20 verses or something. But then you find that you can actually do a lot more than you thought, and keep taking on more. I have to say though, I don't always memorize verses "recitation perfect". My (personal) main objective is to know the content thoroughly and let the Lord speak to me through the passages :)
I simply don't know all the things I don't know! :) But levity aside, I agree that I'm learning new things all the time about the Lord by using this site.
I've just begun listening also, Lycanis. It's great how we give each other ideas on this website. I had been having the thought, but finally did it after reading Graetzmi's comment. With respect to Romans, I've nearly completed Chapter 3.
Hello Robinshe, how are you? Over here in my part of the world we have partly cloudy skies and almost zero temperatures, but no snow yet. Another Monday morning ...
at the rate of one verse per day, if someone started today, you would have the whole Bible added and in your learning queue by January 17, 2101. :) I calculated that with Excel. Of course, that is also about 85 years from now, so ......
